7th Gen new aux belt & Alternator DIY

7PK1784 / 5 should fit fine as it does with mine. Make sure the mechanic is following the correct routing with the extra pully removed.

Hello all - 2 years after fitting a new drive belt and it's squealing again, so I've decided to replace the tensioner pulley ***embly plus a shorter belt which seems to be the way to go. My 2005 Accord Tourer SE is the 2.0 litre engine (K20 etc) and the belt that I fitted is a Dayco 7PK1759. Reading through the comments and advice from other Accord owners what is the correct part number for the belt for my car - that's with the shorter belt and the idler pulley removed? General opinion is that removing the idler pulley is the way to go - is that correct?
I've owned the Tourer since October 2016 and it's been a damn good car especially as a load carrier. Despite its age, I still enjoy driving the car although it failed the MOT in October and needed some underbody welding - both rear sills.
Thanks for all replies in advance and I'll let you know how I go on with the tensioner ***embly replacement - guided by a video from hondatheotherside.com
