Started my annual chassis wash today, jack up wheels off, pressure wash the arches out with shampoo. Then when dry spray a bit of waxoyl on the struts/suspension arms to slow down the rusting.

Its fairly clean under there for a 5year old car with almost 70k miles on it. Good quality as the suspension arms arent too rusty. The area under the boot to the back bumper has a plastic undershield, so its all protected, just washed it off and sprayed some autoglym vinyl and rubber on, looks like new now.

Front subframe was quite rusty, so sprayed plenty on that. I use the clear waxoyl, black stuff is too messy.

I'll get some pics up, before and after asap.

Pics as promised. 5 years, 68k miles, quite a bit of surface rust on the suspension arms. Bad areas I'd advise 8th gen owners to check: front subframe, rear tow hook, box trap at back of rear arch.

Well worth doing if you plan to keep the car for a few years, 5 litres of clear waxoyl is £29.
