Well guys as you know iv been after a armrest for the accord and i managed to get one today!! 
found the part in a breakers in north london. It was in ok condition but for £30.00 can complain ,anyways iv been thinking about upgrading the speakers in the accord for a while now,especially the bass!! what i didnt want is something massive in the boot taking up space, i wanted it too look and feel a bit more OEM. so i thought instead of installing the bass speakers in the boot why not have them in the cabin itself. one company who has though of this was nissan,in their nissan GTR (r35 model)the have two bose speakers in the back which sits between the rear two seats...
brilliant exactly what iv been thinking of doing...so i set to task at hand...
firstly i needed to find a nissan gtr which was being broken,this proved a mission in its self as there were kinda of rare anyway and to find one being broken for parts was even more rare!!! but i managed to find a place in manchester and i managed to source the bose part TOO
i did have to trim down the sides of the facia plate as it was too wide to fit the space where the armrest sits...after this was done i had to get a leather accord arm rest(didnt wana chop the original plus its got my rear screen in it )so the search began and after a few emails and a dozen calls i picked one up today...
firstly i split the facia from its mounting braket which is held on by8 screws then i had to get the leather off the arm rest...
very easily done!! then came the hard bit...i had to cut the foam to length of 14 3/4 inches so this woud give space for the armrest which already exits to be at the bottom and the speaker one to sit on top , the foam was easily cut,but there is a metal frame iside the foam which goes around the foam bit to keep the shape cutting through this metal frame took about 20min with a hack saw.i then had to aligne the bose facia and drill 8 holes so the mouting points would go through the leather and the mounting braket could be screwed on from underneath.once this was done i had to get the cut foam back into the armrest. 20minutes and swear full of money later the foam was back in..here are the results...not final guys but work in progress..
iv tried to keep this looking as oem as possible, without looking chavy or boy racery ... my next step is to find a small subwoofer around 7-8"max and get this mounted inside the foam,if i can get hold of small and slim subwoofers then i will stick two in there like my original plan, if i cant then it will have to be one 8" subwoofer.remember this is work in progress and so far this is were i am at....
