An ongoing issue of air in my front offside brakeline resulted in the eventual issue found as one of the valves in the ABS unit letting in air. A few days later the brakes started to bind to the point the brakes were locked on. The ABS unit was pressurising the brakes but not releasing it. I sent the ABS unit to Essex Recons, who seemed to have a number of issues., not getting it seperated, replacing stuck valves and difficulty in refitting the motor. Eventually got the unit back after 4 weeks and the pump motor is stuck and popping fuses, so they have failed in reconing the unit and currently seeking a refund.
Have been looking for a tourer ABS unit but they seem to be extinct! To get by through that time I found an ABS unit from a 2.4 accord saloon only to find the rear wheel speeds are higher than the front. The ABS defaulted to safe mode but at least I had brakes. It turns out that the only difference between the brakes and ABS units on a saloon accord and a tourer is the rear hub which is larger on the tourer, hence so is the ABS encoder ring.
I'm guessing the difference is a setting in the software of the unit. Is it possible to get an ABS unit re-programmed anywhere so a saloon ABS will work on a tourer?
