Well, its been a while...
a very long while so just an update.
My old Honda Accord K24 in silver long sold - then I got a lexus IS250
Reliable, but ultiately boring which in my opinion speaks for most of the Lexus cars - I was digging into a LC500 and got the same vibes - depends on what you want in a motor - very well put together the IS250 nothing wrong with it other than a bit too 'dull'
Sold Lexus for a CL55 AMG, it was great for about a day or two -- sent it to PCS for a full on health check quite a few things were wrong - obviously a dud MOT - I got my money back and no more German cars then - I dont even think I had that Merc a month - it was collected at my work place - refresh, refresh, refresh my banking app and take that back with you thank you. - it was a Japanese car and one I had previously identified as a potential purchase, this time I saw one in camberley and it just took about 3 minutes winging it around a back road to quickly hand over the readies - - I had that Subaru Legacy 3.0 R SpecB for 8 years -- honestly, the best car I ever owned and had I more space I would have kept it
Moving on in my half century on earth and deciding I am not happy with Electric Cars and the way things are going and after a few years of research it has to be said I got a Jaguar - no one is complete without one of those I guess - not any old Jag mind - no, after driving that Subaru it changed my mindset - BMWS, Golfs and Audis were all out - I wanted something a bit more special and found a quite remarkable XKR-S limited edition model (200 units, 50 RHD for UK / 150 LHD for EU) - Developed by pro drive and a skunk works project by Mike Cross, Dave Pook and Matt O'Hara who had free reign to soup up the XKR and Jaguar liked what they saw and made 200 units at a cost of £80K in 2008...! - drove 8 hour round trip in my Subaru to make this thing my own and my high level summary on that I came up with driving it home on the M4 - A guided missile with a free armchair attached - its blistering fast and I have not used the S mode yet - also its remarkable compliant for B roads which was a bit of a concern to me.
So far its 7 months ish ownership and no problems, I spent a load of time narrowing down what Jaguar to get and decided on the 'old' 4.2 V8
I hope everyone here is keeping well, I remember some names, Brian was one -- also a Stevie ..
Cheers
