Hi, i have a leak from the egr,and i cant know if its from the pipe or the gaskit. I want to know how to take it out the pipe ? If needs to take out the engine to do it? Pls tks

This is a known problem with the 8th gen IDTEC, it's most likely a craked bypass pipe.

We've started doing EGR OFF with DPF OFF more regularly now due to this.

Check to make sure it is the pipe first, but if it is you will need the pipe

Before you spend you're own few bucks..... http://www.civinfo.com/forum/honda-accord/62577-8th-gen-accord-warranty-extension-egr-pipe-crack-accord-idtec.html

Hi tks, but i need to know if it is possible to remove it without the engine being removed out?

Im almost 100% sure u can take it out without removing the engine

What makes you think you would need to remove the engine?? I've not done it myself but I'd be ultra surprised if you had to remove the engine just to take the bypass pipe out!!

Hi really tks for ur help, because the pipe of the egr on the 8th gen is on back of the engine and is difficult to see it, immagine to work cos there is no space enough to work. I wish that someone can tell me how to removed without to take the engine out pls? Tks.b

Contact your Honda dealer and check if they will do it under the extended warranty...

Must say it does look a big job at 1st glance to get to. I was looking myself the other day while changing the oil thinking while I'm here I'll clean my EGR valve lol !!!

No chance for regular maintenance now.
The Gen 7 was a doddle.
