EML on no known cade?

Any ideas? Mk 8 diesel automatic tourer, driving steady 70/80, on cruise control, up comes the EML light and into limp mode, pull over and switch off, have a Icarsoft reader on board plug it in and investigate, NO DTC.? Clear DTC? YES and back to normal, could it be the PDF regeneration going on, or maybe the fuel filter needs changing, last change 60,000 now on 98,000. The reader is icarsoft.

Is the car remapped? An Eml should always generate an error code, even historical. Perhaps your code reader can’t access the right Dtc table to retrieve it. Can you access another diagnostic tool?
