Honda Accord 2008
Dear honda lovers,
I have recently bought a second hand 2008 mk8 accord 2.0 i-vitec petrol. I really love this car it's fabulous, but a warning sign in yellow triangle ⚠️ showed up on dash board. So I went to a local private honda specialist and diagnosed the fault code of b2631: centre right rear sensor failure as you may see at the picture attached. The mechanic told me to change ultrasonic sensor but I do believe it's something different. Any idea or help would be much appreciated.IMG-20201216-WA0000.jpgIMG-20201216-WA0000.jpg

It's a parking sensor failure? Not hard to replace. You can probably find a very cheap replacement on Aliexpress, or get the same item packaged by Honda for 30 times more..

Maybe first unplug / clean / re-plug the one that is there.

Thank you but they are all working. Do you think they might be faulty even they are in good working condition?

When i purchased my mk8 i had 2 sensors in front not working. I found then on ebay sent from China in my paint colour. Far cheaper than dealers and they looked real enough to me even came in honda packaging with what looked like official part number sticker. They've been on for two years now with no problems.

It looks like your right centre sensor is the one that is faulty the second code is probably showing up due to there being a general problem with the sensor system.

What's your paint code? and I'll try see if i can find you the correct part and put the link up here

Also need to know if it's the saloon or estate tourer you've got as the centre rear sensors are different between the two car shapes the saloon uses the same part for all 8 sensors. Also is it the es / es-gt or ex trim you've got?

Thank you so much for your time. This is really amazing. Even it's silver, I will have a look for the paint code tomorrow. It's a saloon with ex trim.

Mildly confused. You said they are working, did not want to replug or swap them over, but you will fit new ones? It could just be a bit of corrosion on a contact patch. How did you test it was working despite it being reported as faulty?

I am not sure to fit the new ones or even not sure the code is about all sensors. I placed something in front of each sensor and observed on the dashboard that they are all working. Am I doing it in the correct way?

Yes, I think so. Does the fault reappear when you clear it? If the sensors are all working the main suspects are connectors possibly being moisture affected. A tonne of low voltage electrical problems are solved by simply removing, cleaning and re-plugging, contacts and earths..

Yesterday I swapped the sensors and found out that one of them is faulty so I replaced it with the spare one at home but the warning sign is still there. Is it possible because of the fault code in memory?
