Hello , I'm on the point of buying type R font callipers for my tourer. On a recent driving holiday I came to the conclusion that the Accord brakes are not the best stoppers at anything over leisurely driving pace. Has anyone that has done this upgrade any advice as to whether or not it is worth the expense ? Thanks, Rod.

Never had cause to question the braking capability of my car, they've always been good (except the binding problem of course, but that's a different issue)
Have you tried a complete brake fluid change?

2.4 twin piston fronts should be a bolt on upgrade no? You'll need to get new brackets and larger disks anyway so may as well go with the 320mm option.

The 2.2 Type S Diesel also got the bigger front calipers, and they're more common than the 2.4 petrol in this country, if that helps, as you might be able to find one being broken that you can get the calipers from - think they're just a direct bolt on without brackets? But different disks/pads needed of course.

Alternatively you can go for the following budget "big brake kit" that I put together from reading online - but not bothered yet as the stock CU2 brakes with new discs and good pads seem totally fine:

Big brake calipers front (Honda Legend KB1/Acura RL) 45018SJAE03 + 45019SJAE03
Big brake caliper adapters Fat Four Customs https://fatfourcustoms.com/shop/brake-caliper-bracket-v1/ $218 or possibly ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/176568004254
Nissan 350z brake discs (40206cd005 brembo 09.8485.11) £165
Brake pads for BBK (Honda 45022SJAE00 or Brembo P28079) £60

Thanks for all the information chaps. I took my car to a quiet stretch of road and tried some realistic breaking situations including emergency stops. Conclusion? I'll stick with what I have, they will do the job, and I'll have to remember how old I am when driving on those twisty tempting country roads.
