I'm noticing my driveshaft "Damper, dynamic" parts (number 44351-SDC-A61) are discontinued and the rubber on mine is perishing.....

I'm panicking about the car now because if that's an MOT failure (not sure if the MOT guy will be able to see it anyway with all the underbody liners), the car will become immobilised.

I contacted JP-Parts, but they don't have it (despite their advert saying they did).

Maybe I'd have to buy the complete driveshaft (from a breakers) with that part on it?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Looks like the boot kits are sold if that helps

My driveshaft snapped when the rubber perished. It snapped when the technician test drove it. If your steering is vibrating dangerously at motorway speeds, then stop driving it and get it fixed.

Thanks for the advice. There isn't any vibration or anything like that, and it has just passed its MOT with no advisories. I'd just noticed that the damper was slightly perishing and started to panic. It seems you can get an entire halfshaft for less than £100 (can't remember if Honda still supply them) and so all is not lost.

Somebody (not a million miles from here) has posted a video previously which shows the filling of the perished rubber voids with flexiseal.

Apparently it works a treat.

Window-weld is an option but not as good
