So, mot fail described as: Nearside Front Headlamp aim projected beam image is obviously incorrect .

It passed last year and I haven't had to change the bulb since so how is this possible?

Cracked lens? Broken mounts? Height adjuster failure causing headlight to move?
Is your Halogen or HID?

if you have h1 bulbs, try pushing the base of the bulb into its seat with your lights on to see if the pattern changes
the retention bracket can get loose and wonky at times, to the point where it will not force the bulb into its seat. it's a very mild steel as far as spring steel goes, so you can bend it back into shape to restore lost tension

I'm not sure which bulbs are in there but both sides look the same position wise. Nothing wrong with the light housing. I'll have a play with them tomorrow and see if I can find anything wrong.

Sounds like an over zealous tester. My tester would just adjust them for free if they needed it.

You should be able to check on a dark evening on level ground and the side of the house.

Is it possible you have a European headlight fitted on that side without knowing ?
