Hi,
I have a 2010 Diesel Tourer 2.2i DTEC (?) manual with 140k miles on it.
I generally do long journeys, 1h+.
Recently the DPF light came on with the exclamation mark. Didn't get any other warning before the exclamation mark version of the light.
I took it to a local garage (Northampton) to have it looked at and was told that the oil level was a bit too high for the auto-regen to kick in. They dropped the oil level and forced a regen. Ash was apparently at 37%. The light went out but came on again after 200mls or so.
I took it back to them and they said there were no error codes at all. Presumed a "reprogramming error" and reset things again. (Don't think they did another forced regen...) Ash level was now at 0%.
Light went out but came back after about 60mls or so.
What's my next move? I'm very fond of this car but don't have huge funds to throw at it. Is the DPF shot and needs replacing? Is there an economical way to do this? A main dealer is likely to charge more than the car is worth I guess... I'm nervous about a removal as don't fancy the fine...
Help please :)

Have a search of the forum, it’s a well covered area. Stop using local garages to solve this issue, you’ll keep getting exactly this sort of random advice. Once decided, feel free to drop me a private message if you would like to explore a permanent fix.

I spent all afternoon reading the forum...
Do you mean that the dpf needs replacing/removing? Is that the only option?

Take the car to be remapped. Fahad offers a quality service. I have had no trouble with mine since I had it looked at by Premier.

I have an accord 2 .2 I dtec, 60,000 on the clock, no dpf issue yet but have only recently purchased, would it be worth getting remap done now before any issues?

I have a 2012 dtec accord with 137k on the clock, my dpf light came on last week and was stuck in limp mode. I took it to Fahad @ premier tuning - car drives like a dream now and mpg is a little bit better. I would highly recommend doing the same.
