Hey folks, is it normal to hear the motor whining away through the dash during operation? I’m not talking about the blades themselves moving across the screen.

TIA

It could mean that the motor is under load more than it should be, the wiper pivots can get corroded and cause a lot of friction, try disconnecting the spindle from the motor drive marking it so you don't lose your position and seeing if the wipers are free to move, if they aren't then you can disassemble and lube the shafts and that should help a lot.

Took mine apart and the wipers move just fine. It's the motor itself that makes that loud-ish sound you can hear inside the car.

Are all the rubber mounts on the motor OK?
If any of them are failing the motor can touch the steel and transmit noise.
