Hi there, my 2008 Accord, 2.2L diesel (7th gen) has perhaps a big repair job ahead and I'm wondering is it perhaps time to cut my losses and sell it.
It started with a leaking high pressure p.s. hose, I successfully replaced that and used a part and supplier that was recommended on here in an old thread I dug up.
A few days went by and I realized that there was still a leak as the p.s. fluid needed a very slight topping up again, I kept an eye on it, a few weeks went by and now the leak has gotten much worse, scoured over the new hose I fitted and the low pressure return but couldn't find the leak.
Said I'd jack up the passenger side for a snoop and low and behold, the 1st thing I was greeted with was a grey grease all over the lower passenger side of the engine, it looks as though it's the steering rack on the passenger side where the p.s. fluid is leaking from.
After a quick google search it appears to be a job for a qualified mechanic and beyond my diy capabilities and sanity.
Is this a very expensive fix?
Considering the car is probably worth about 2 grand, tops!

I also fear that the timing chain will need renewing soon as there's been a mechanical ring sound coming from the engine for a while now when I'm accelerating, especially when in low revs.

Might be time to repair and sell.

Just wondering if you have had any issue with potholes in the past six to twelve months and your current local council response to liability when running over them.

Have you checked for damage to alloy wheels, replaced tyres or had to inflate/check pressures in a similar timeframe ?
