Can somebody help me concerning the rear brakes on my 2005 2 ltr saloon,,
I am about to replace discs and pads on my car and whilst I was looking at them closely it would appear that the concertina type rubber seals on the slider pins are not that great.
question is can someone send me a link to a website where I can purchase these.
Thanks in advance for any help .
John

Hi. I have a 2007 diesel saloon and changed the rear brakes - discs pads and calipers last week, your car should have a similar setup. The slider pins were corroded and seized on one side and the rubbers split. I got replacements from Ebay @ £13 for both sides. The kits included the slider pins, with a sachet of grease , new rubbers and retain bolts. Remember to clean out the hanger where the pins go of old grease - I found cotton buds good for the job. Hope that helps you. Regards Mark

Did you clean and re- grease the slider pins? Also fully apply the handbrake a few times.
other than that I don’t know

There was likely some corrosion on your brake piston that, when you pushed the piston back in to fit the new pads, is now interfering with smoothly sliding past the seal.

You need to have a look at that. Pull the piston halves apart and inspect behind the dust deal. Some related info, and photo here.
