Rear handbrake shoes

Just got some new rear handbrake shoes for my Tourer from my local spares shop and they seem far too big. He checked all the suppliers he knows and they all list the same size, 170mm diameter, but seems far too large.

Will check them against the car when I get home but can anybody confirm these are the right size?

My references say 170mm x 35mm for the shoes.
