To renew your remote locking case, you're going to want to visit this link and order yourself one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-Civic-Crv-Accord-Jazz-etc-3-Button-Remote-Key-Fob-Case-/120983902656?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Safety_Security&hash=item1c2b33d9c0#ht_963wt_906

So my keyfob was looking pretty horrid, all scratched, no logos on the buttons and some of it had snapped off:

Step 1) Turn your old fob over, get a coin, (anything less thick than a pound), and twist open the battery hatch, take the battery out, you'll need it!

Step 2) On the bottom of the fob, there's a little slit that you can fit a small flat head screwdriver into, cover the tip of the screwdriver with a cloth and then pry the case apart, you'll be left with two parts, take the part with the green circuit board inside it and turn it around, push the lock button gently and the green board will start to come out along with a gel cover

Step 3) Pull the green board out of the gel cover, you should now have parts that look like this:

Step 4) Open up your package with the new case and buttons, it should come in parts so you don't have to pry it apart to fit your stuff inside it

Step 5) Put the green board into the new provided gel cover, it's a bit of an awkward fit because it's not an OEM case so a bit of force may be needed to persuade it in

So much CLEANER!

Step 6) Now push the gel cover and green board into the front of the new cover, again, it's not a perfect fit and you'll have to push it in a bit to get it to fit

Step 7) On the back cover of the the new case, you'll want to place your battery in the battery bay, with negative facing toward the green board

Step 8) Click both parts together and Voilla!! New Case

Step 9) Peel off the black tape and reveal that all important Honda logo :D

One of the first things I did when I got my accord. Nice tutorial!

One thing I've also noticed is the keyfob upgrade:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-BTN-FLIP-KEY-FOB-CASE-UPGRADE-FOR-HONDA-ACCORD-CIVIC-HRV-CRV-S2000-REMOTE-KEY-/320978049401?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Other_Vehicle_Parts_Accessories_ET&hash=item4abbc85979#ht_3007wt_1163

Tempting but a bit on the pricey side considering what it is...

Thanks man!
Yeah, I saw that too, but too much effort having to recut a key and then slice up my other one to get the transponder chip, but the end result would look pretty smart
