Can anyone tell me of any problems with starting an engine which has been sitting for nearly four years?

Is there a way to get oil circulating around engine before starting on the key?

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks,
Pete :) .

Basically you need to turn it without letting it fire. On my SAAB which i only use in the summer I just disconnect the coil pack and crank it over for a while to build up some oil pressure and let it circulate. Once fired up I will let it idle for a long time before revving it. Followed this for the last 5 years never had an issue.
