Last year my a/c was fine, this year my compressor failed. So, new compressor and condenser fitted, professionally gassed up, but, no cold air ! Compressor cutting in and out as it should, system full of gas, fans working fine but no cold air, can anyone suggest next step ? Thanks chaps.

Check your heater control valve in the engine bay to ensure it’s not stuck.

Also check the climate control blend flap actuators, again if they’re broken then it won’t be switching hot and cold.

We had the same issue recently on my dads IDTEC CRV and after changing compressor twice, condenser and multiple regas, I joined a CRV Facebook group and found a link to a post from someone who had the same problem and it turned out to be a little plastic one way valve in the aircon pipe behind the bulkhead. It’s a plastic valve and when it breaks, it stops the gas circulating.

Does your low pressure pipe go ice cold when the air con is running? If not then that might be your issue. You can remove the valve and bin it, it’s actually not needed.

Thanks Fahad, no pipe is not cold, but a surprise happening on Wednesday evening. Whilst driving to a fishing venue, smoke from under the bonnet! Had a look and the new compressor had seized !!! I switched off a/c and it was ok to drive home and I am in contact with Autodoc as to a solution. I am considering re- clutching my old compressor as an inexpensive stop gap in the meantime because during the time I remove the seized one and replace it I need to use the car.

Well if after replacing the clutch the pipe still isn’t getting cold I suspect you have the same faulty plastic one way valve. If you’re not evacuating the gas to do the clutch then see how you get on. But if the gas is coming out anyway, then I would locate remove that valve before refilling with new gas.

Update, I can't take off the faulty Autodoc a/c compressor until I have a replacement, so I removed the clutch from my old compressor and ordered a replacement clutch from an ebay supplier, guess what? WRONG!!! it seems impossible to obtain the correct part and I am currently at my wits end, suggestions anyone? :( :( :( :(
