New Here Guys,

Have owned a 2007 i-CDTi Sports Tourer for five weeks.

On Thursday the VSA light came on and stayed own.

Took it to my local garage and they ran diagnostics that said DTC 25-1 Yaw Sensor Failure.

Went to see a further specialist with Honda Diagnostic kit and it confirmed 25-1.

I cannot find the Yaw Rate sensor anywhere. Taken ash tray/bin out and nothing. Lifted centre console, again can't see anything.

Removed both front seats and still couldn't find it. Is it me?

Can anyone guide me as to where exactly it is and how you remove it?

Thanks

I'm not 100% but it should be under the drivers seat. you have to remove a bracket/cover to gain access.

Thanks. It's not under the drivers seat. It, I think, should be under the passenger seat. I've got an exploded diagram showing it, and in my car the whole ***embly isn't there. I'm wondering whether there has been some sort of serious bodge/masking in the past.

Only had the car five weeks and the light came on on Thursday.

For the petrol the Workshop manual says it's under the drivers, I also seen people say its behind the centre dash console and passenger?

PM This guy , though not sure if he has petrol/diesel

He only came for 4 posts though, apparently managed to fix the same problem but typically didn't bother adding a detailed how to before dissapearing.

Bought a second hand unit from eBay. The seller advised that it's 'in front of the ash tray in the footwell - accessed via two covers either side of the centre console'. I hope he's correct. The covers are certainly there!

I popped to see my local Honda dealership this morning who advised that it will be in the centre console, not under the seats.

The car is booked into my local garage for Friday this week to have the replacement unit fitted, and to give the car a service.

Thanks

Really interesting as my vsa light comes on time to time. When I first got the car I took it back with the vsa permanently on with yaw failure code, honda reset/re calibrated it and now it's temperamental. If it gets worse I might try swapping out the sensor!

It's not hard to change. How does the re-calibration work - via clearing the code?

The Yaw Rate Sensor is between the drivers and passengers feet. Remove the two triangular inspection panels low down on the centre console (one screw one side, two screws drivers side). Remove the two plastic ducts that feed air under the carpet to the passengers feet in the rear, and the sensor is exposed. It sits in front of the SRS unit.

It's the silver box with the black 6 wire plug.

Keep this photo for reference! It took A LOT of finding! Even the Honda dealer wasn't entirely sure where it was!!!!!!!

If it's like the ABS sensors then you can recalibrate it with the HDS, i've done it on a K24 petrol.

Nice post by the way, another useful addition to the DIY base.

I'm going to move it there in fact.

Hi

I changed the Sensor tonight. Awful job - really constrained area. Cut my hands to ribbons!

Good news is that the VSA light is OUT! Did a 5 mile road test and all OK. So far ......

Fingers crossed!

Hi I managed to undo one nut on driver's side but having trouble accessing the opposite side, the wire harness is not budging and don't want to damage the plastic connectors. Is there any particular tool I can use to get to it?
