I had the same seizing problem and thought I needed a new caliper. The local mechanic tried replacing the sliders and it worked. Cheap fix.

Mine's done 186,000, getting some niggly issues as you would expect but I'm really happy with the engine and gearbox. I wouldn't buy another unless I was sure the same old, same old design/manufacturing problems had already raised their ugly heads and had been sorted out on it eg. VSA

At the end of that I should have said failure of the electric system doesn't seem like a safety issue as long as you can still open and close the tailgate manually, which is the case with my car.

I've been having trouble with the tailgate handle lever sticking. Somehow rainwater has got access to the handle lever and it has rusted. I can live with it as the car is old and I'm not bothered about paying £££ to put it right. What I have to do is ensure that when I open the tailgate manually...

I noticed uneven wear on the inside of the left rear tyre of my 56 Tourer so I had the alignment checked using the Hunter system. He filed the pads and the new sliders have helped as well. He didn't charge me for the extra work as he said it should have been done right first time so that's all fine.

Just to wrap this up, the noise that had sounded like an engine growl evolved into a rattle and it was caused by a loose cat heat shield. The dealer wanted £200 to replace it but a local bloke managed to get the rusted bolts out and got it fixed for £20.

As a somewhat late update, Fahad was spot on and a replacement APP sensor solved the problem. Interisting that a guy 300 miles away solved the problem within 5 hours of me posting on here whereas Aberdeen Honda couldn't do it within a week.
