Yes, filter was garage fitted....... Yes, they quoted for a drive in drive out service at Terraclean. My wife's toothbrush gets used for all sorts of odd tasks too. Luckily she never reads my postings on this forum....... :D

Ummmmm! Will attempt the manifold first! If all goes well I might delve into the turbo :unsure:

Contacted the Terraclean guys Fahad.......they quoted £460 to clean the turbo and manifold!! Is that steep or am I just tight??! :(

Er no! New (OE) filter has just been fitted tho. I'm guesssing you undo the bolt and wait for a constant fuel flow?

Yeh I have run a couple of bottles of Rhino cleaner thru it. Fahad said injectors 2&3 were a little out of tolerance but It'll do for now...... Not sure if I fancy tackling the turbo clean......is it a DIY job? Don't mind having a go but I can't f***; it up - the Mrs needs the car for work...

Update.....EGR blanked and remapped by Fahad. Now just need to shift 160k miles worth of recycled exhaust grot that is wedged in my intake manifold! Hopefully it should be able to breathe a lot better then. Gasket ordered, 2 tins of soot shifter and a selection of wire brush weapons purchased...

Just ordered the gasket and two tins of industrial soot remover! Can't wait to get stuck in......

Hi Matt! Yep. Fahad was Stage 1 ing mine at lunch time! Still got some work to do......intake manifold is rammed with soot and the turbo needs a clean. 160k of recycled diesel exhaust fumes to clean up won't be easy! Can't wait to unleash the extra horses :ph34r: !! You happy with yours then?

Think I've just answered this myself! According to tinternet Caustic Soda will disolve alloy. Doh! Nice try Mossyman.... :blush:

Intake manifold - does anyone know if it can be dipped in caustic soda to remove the soot? Will the alloy be ok? :wacko: Gotta get mine off. Fahad blanked off the EGR yesterday. The crud I could see through the port in the manifold looked horrendous!

Just had this done by Fahad. You won't meet a nicer Guy!! He knows these motors inside out. Money well spent me thinks! :wub:

Hi. Mine are badly rusted too. I had the same problem - discs catching the shields.Managed to bend them clear. Not looked into it any further tho. Will watch your replies with interest! :unsure:
