Hi! Have anyone any kind of aftermarket gauge put it on his accord?
I want to put the pressure and temperature oil gauges on my CL9, and I almost can't find nothing about this, and i think this is something very important to control.
If you have any pictures or someone who has put it, or maybe the compatibilities with other models.. would be great to know how and where to fit it.

I've not done this to an Accord, but from my youthful mini days I think you'll need a 'sandwich plate' between the oil filter and block, this gives you a take off for the oil pressure guage. Don't know if this would allow you to tap in for the oil temp. Not sure where you'd fit the guages, there's no obvious places on the dashboard. Perhaps one of those pods on the inside of the windscreen pillar? Perhaps some of the Civic or Accord Type R guys have done this - try a google search, or the Accura TSX tuners in the USA (Accura TSX is the same as our Accord). I'm presuming this is a K series petrol engine?

But as it's a Honda there's no need to monitor anything accept getting the revs into the Vtec zone...

I have wanted to do this on my diesel accord and mount the gauge in the cubby hole just infront of the gear stick.

oil temp can be taken from the sump.. and pressure can be taken from a sandwich plate as commented above.
I cant use a SW plate as my oil filter is very different from yours... so I ended up not doing it. :(

If your car is fitted with a spin off oil filter, fitting both oil pressure & temp. gauges is very straight forward. I've fitted these to my 6th Gen, simply as I had a spare set of gauges. You'll need:

Gauges, one of each or a single one with duel readings (handy, as the required mounting space is 50% less). Make sure you get a complete kit with wiring looms & both sensors which screw into the s/plate.

Oil filter sandwich plate suitable for the particular engine. I'd opt for a leading brand rather than the cheap eBay ones.

Power, depending on the gauges some will require a single feed for both illumination & the actual gauges themselves. My particular one's get illumination power from the radio circuit via http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-Add-Circuit-Fuse-Tap-Piggy-Back-Standard-Blade-Fuse-Holder-ATO-ATC-12v-24v-/170709632237?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item27bf1644ed and power for the gauges directly from the battery.

And that's really about it. I've got a photo of the gauges mounted but can't for some reason upload here?

^ you need to open a photobucket account or similar where you can upload pictures http://photobucket.com

then you insert the link to the pictures using the IMG code (photobucket has the "media" link which you click and then paste into the post here)

the link would be something like (with deliberate mistakes to keep my typing vivisble)

Cheers Freddofrog, the link should show both mounted gauges.

Would this be suitable for the diesels..also a boost gauge will be good for the diesel too :D

wow I like that :)

With those particular gauges the orange on black can be switched to white on black or you can have both, i. e. orange on black with dash/side ligths off and white on black with lights switched on or the other way around. I just wired then to orange on black with lights on only but, I will try the white on black soon as it closest to the original dash display.

Thanks a lot for your replies, I have about 5000-6000km to do the oil change, so I will start look for some good pair and also a good place to fit them.

boost gauge on the diesel would be boring. as we have a nvt max boost would be met almost straight away and it would just stay there until you changed gear
