Hi Guys
I have a 56 plate Accord 2.2 diesel. I have had this for almost 8 months and not had any issues. It has been very well looked after and services at regular intervals. I only use Shell fuel and the recommended oil as well as genuine parts for the service.
About a week ago I was near my house when all of sudden the VSA light came on, at this point I lost power and the engine management light also came on. I could no longer accelerate so I pulled up, turned the car off and then turned it on a few minutes later. The VSA light went off but the engine management light remained. The car would drive but I could feel it wasn't it's normal self. I took it to a local garage next day, by the time I entered the garage the light had gone off. The mechanic connected the computer and reset the code and told me to drive the car and see how it goes for the next few days.
After leaving the garage I could tell the car was still not driving as it used to. There seemed to be a constant lag on the car, the best way I can explain it is as though you are driving in very windy conditions. This was more evident at lower speeds. This continued and it got worse in the next couple of days until the VSA light and the engine management alert returned. I took the car back to the garage, they connected the computer and it's given them a P1248 code (APP sensor A/B (Throttle Position) TP sensor D/E incorrect voltage correlation).
The mechanic says I need to change the Throttle Body.
Does that seem right?
