Hello all

This afternoon, my friend needed to raise the right front window. When she pushed the button, the window went up really fast. We were quite surprised by the speed and the way it hit upper part of the frame. Then it fell down and would not work anymore. When I pushed the window button, nothing happened. I could not even hear the window motor. The thing was totally dead...

When we came home, I removed the door panel to see if I could insert a piece of wood to keep the window up. I managed to do so and reassembled the panel.

Then, just to make sure, I tried to activate the window button and I heard the window motor spinning! Of course, the mechanism would not work since I had blocked the thing with a piece of wood.

Then it went dark and I had to go home. Does anyone have any idea of what happened?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry for late reply did you resolve or not ?

Thread hijack...I have a lazy front passenger window that when opened fully really struggles on the return such that I have to get out grip the glass to help it along. No problems closing it when half or two thirds opened so it doesnt lead me to believe there is a motor problem just the mechanism or glass gets jammed.

Every other window is ok, any clues as to the likely cause...just dirt, mechanism, poor earthing, motor even?

Perhaps UK people can comment on what he equivalent UK products might be for Rain-X water repellant (I think this is just regular Rain-X in a pump spray) and Dry PTFE Lubricant.
