TypeAccord Rules

Whilst no one likes rules most people understand that they are necessary to ensure a smooth and consistent approach is taken. So please take a look and digest our enforceable rules.

1. Language. Whilst using this forum you will maintain a calm and well-mannered approach and part of this will be ensuring your language used is suitable for an audience of any age. This mean no swearing and no attempting to get around the swear filter in any way.

2. Be polite and considerate. Under no circumstances will personal insults nor impolite comments nor antagonistic remarks be tolerated. Also it is impolite conduct to register two accounts under several user names.

3. Difference of opinions. When this happens and it normally does at some point in time. You will not take such a difference of opinions in a personal; manor. Remember to deal in the facts and argue your points not argue with the other person.

4. Illegal material. No illegal material or post will be tolerated. If you’re not sure don’t post it! Some examples would be: - bragging about street racing, speeding or posting about copied sat nav DVDs.

5. Avatars and Signatures. All avatars should be of a suitable nature for a general audience. Any signatures should only contain small pictures and be no more than five lines deep.

6. Libel. A libellous comment is an untrue one that is damaging to the person or business. Anyone doing this will be banned instantly no warnings will be given.

7. Trading. All selling is to be done in the For Sale and Wanted forum and is subject to the (insert trading rules).

8. Selling. Any “how much is this worth” etc. threads will be edited or deleted by Mods, either you're selling something or you're not. A link to an eBay auction is fine in any forum and is posted to help direct a member to a useful product.

If you are a commercial organisation and want to promote your product, then you must first contact a mod or admin to discuss terms before placing any form of post.

9. PMs. Although the above rules are for public posts, it is not permitted to send a PM that may cause significant offence to the recipient. It is the responsibility of the sender to gauge what "significant offence" may be, but it normally includes personal attacks combined with use of poor language. The recipient should report any offending p.m.’s to the mods or admins.

10. Obsessive posting (AKA message trolling or spamming) Any excessive posting by members which admins or mods feel has little value or contribution to the thread or forum as a whole will invoke a warning. If such activity persists after a warning has been given the user shall have posting priviledges revoked or be banned - at discretion.

Moderating Guidance: -

Moderation should be rare and not common place assuming rules are observed correctly.
Threads deemed hopeless or without thought may be binned and a pm sent to explain why.
All edits will be shown, in line and in context.
Not every thread or post can be viewed by a mod and therefore it may appear some people have got away with something in the past. If this happens members should raise it with a mod so action can be taken.
A mods or admins decision is final and under no circumstances are you to argue with the mods or admins. If you feel aggrieved about a decision you can pm another mod or admin who will look into the issue. This does not mean a decision will be overturned but is to ensure we operate a fair system.
Starting a thread about mods or admins actions is not allowed and such threads will be deleted.
