this is the research i done before buying mine 8th gen:
* service history is must as you want reasurance that the vehicle and engine has been looked after.
* Check the clutch condition, private or empty road preferably, travel at quite a low speed and floor it in 2nd or 3rd to see if the clutch grips as it should. Also finding a steep hill and doing a simular test.
* Brake pad and disc condtion.
* Engine mounts, have someone in the car rev the engine while you look into the engine bay, the diesel models engine can move around quite alot on initial start up, but any excessive vibrations or knocking on tick over or while driving id walk away.
* Tyre condition e.g tread wear and steering wheel alignment, as this will tell you if the track is out.
* As your getting an EX GT, there is looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaads of electronic goodness
one of the most important ones is the operation of the sat nav, PLEASE make sure u dont make the same mistake as i did, and buy an accord with a eastern european disc only
make sure both disc come with the car (upto date preferably)
* do you standard checks with the centre console, check the cd player, usb, aux etc all work.
* Check there is sound coming from all the speakers, if not check the settings withing the settings to make sure it all works.
* Check that the service indicator on the dash matches the hard copy service book, if not ask why.
* Correct me if im wrong (going on memory) if stand out side of the car and hold the unlock button, the windows will go down and the sun roof will open untill the button is released. if you hold the lock button, everything should close.
* Check that electric wing mirrors operate correctly via the controls, mirrors move on demand and in the correct direction, mirror units fold in via the button etc.
* with the ignition on or engine on,put the wing mirror selection button to its neutral position, and put the vehicle into reverse (u dont have to be moving) and the left hand side wing mirror should automatically face the floor / slash kurb.
* Hold the boot release on the key fob to open the boot via the fob. it should pop open.
*
il keep adding to this throughout the day.
