Evening all.

As a result of recent discussions on the Civinfo forum regarding upgraded clutch options for the i-CTDi engines, I would like to know if anyone can confirm whether the heavier duty 8th gen S 180PS is a straight fit onto the 7th gen diesel? I'm pretty sure that this has been hinted at before, but no real conclusion was reached and I can't find the thread where I thought this had been discussed!

It has been suggested here on TA that the 8th gen 180PS clutch can be retrofitted to the 8th gen 150PS... http://typeaccord.co.uk/forum/topic/15710-types-vs-normal-clutch/ and separately also suggested here that the early 8th gen used the same clutch as the 7th gen (post 16)... http://typeaccord.co.uk/forum/topic/16066-clutch-replacement/ so logically it does seem feasible that these clutches/flywheels are all interchangeable, depending, of course, what mods were made to the later 8th gen models to fit the SAC-2 version of the LUK clutch (if any such mods were actually necessary).

For information, I've attached relevant links to Lings showing the clutches mentioned above:-

7th gen N22A clutch - http://www.lingshondaparts.com/honda_car_parts_selection_pfk.php?block_01=17SED01&block_02=E__4800&block_03=608

8th gen N22B 150PS clutch - http://www.lingshondaparts.com/honda_car_parts_selection_pfk.php?block_01=17TL1A01&block_02=E__4800&block_03=3611

8th gen N22B 180PS clutch - http://www.lingshondaparts.com/honda_car_parts_selection_pfk.php?block_01=17TL1A01&block_02=E__4800&block_03=3627

Obviously I'm thinking that if the 8th gen 180PS clutch WILL fit the 7th gen, then this could be a cost-effective way of getting an upgraded clutch, especially if the parts are obtained relatively cheaply from an LUK stockist.

I look forward to your replies!

^ sorry, I'm using IE at the moment, all the posts above appear to be blank

Bump... anyone looked into this conversion?

Anyone got an LUK catalogue and can look up part numbers/compatibility? Useful links?
