Fix up or sell as is?

Replied to PM but will post in here too. My new car is ordered, but won't be arriving until September, so I'll be needing the Accord for the time being. Hoping to get some of the issues solved between now & then too.

Fix up or sell as is?

Yeah fair point. Well guess I could drop it down to £3500, I paid £5250 for it 2yrs ago, but that was before I ruined the paintwork  I've got a good few months to sell it anyway. Think I'll repair the minor stuff as it's easy enough to get sorted, and possibly the bonnet. I'll leave...

Fix up or sell as is?

Ah balls, maybe it's worth less than I was hoping then. I would have thought £5k with everything fix would be a good target, or £4k as is. Dammit, might ruin my new car plans then. Edit - Mine you there's a fecking Cat D 06 plate with 100k on the clock on Autotrader for £4,100, private sale...

Fix up or sell as is?

I think these valuations are useful for run of the mill cars, but FL 2.4 Type S's are pretty rare as it is, Parkers seem to think my car is worth £2,500, which is waaaay out. The last Type S I saw on Autotrader was an 07 2.4 for £7.5k! I need to get £4k for mine, question is, would I get that...

Fix up or sell as is?

Howdy folks, Starting to look like I'll be moving on from the world of the Honda Accord, so I've got to decide how to go about selling mine. It's an 06 2.4 Type S. Got all the toys, 65k on the clock, full service history either Honda or specialists (I take it to ABP). Mechanically it's...

    Intermittent juddering

In the first link about, there is an electrical connector on the side of the throttle ***embly (no. 2) I cleaned this. It's come back again tonight, now the weather has dropped cold again. It only does it when the engine is cold, and only 2nd and 3rd,other gears seem fine and it stops when the...

    2.0 or 2.4

Mine averages 30mpg and my driving is probably 80% town. Then again, I drive like a grandad. Good few months since I hit VTEC YO!

    Intermittent juddering

I took the connection off to clean it, but it looked brand new in there. Cleaned it out best I could anyway, and also tightened the slack on the cable, seems to have cured the problem, for now. Although when it was happening it seemed to be more so on cold/damp mornings, so the change in...

    Oil question

Sound, 1L of Castrol should do the trick then.

    Oil question

I'm sure this has been covered before, but I can't find a sticky. What oil should I be going for in an 06 2.4? I'm sure ABP put 5w40 in at its last service, but I can't find the particulars from the paperwork. This is just for top-ups between services rather than a full change, I do mainly...

    Intermittent juddering

Hmmmm, think I'll try cleaning it out first

    Intermittent juddering

Sorry, forgot to add that bit. 2006 2.4 Type S. What sort of price am I looking at for the sensors?

    Intermittent juddering

Howdy folks, Right, random issue popped up a few days ago. The day judders/stutters slightly, both when accelerating and when coming off the throttle. Mainly happens in 2nd & 3rd gear, and mostly when the car is first fired up, once warmed up it seems to go away. Also, it's intermittent...

    Getting itchy feet

When I bought my Accord I was looking at the usual BMW's, A4's etc. But none of them had the spec I wanted for the same cash, or they had mega mileage. I got my 06 2.4 Type S on 50k 18mths ago for £5250, for the same price you would looking at 3 series and A4's that were 2-3yrs older, double...

    2.4 mpg

It's probably not, that was just going off the cars readout. But the trip from Derby to Cornwall is 90% motorways or dual carriage ways, so 65ish on cruise control the whole way, so low 40's is probably reasonable.

    2.4 mpg

30mpg, mainly town driving, but a mixture. Best I've ever managed was 45mpg on a 350 mile trip to Cornwall, 2 adults, 1 child and a fully loaded boot.

    Dodgy paint!

New paint is pants. When my mum bought her new Fiesta I was nosey around the cars in the show room, shocking orange peel on brand new cars. I used to own a VW Corrado, I'm sure it had at least 100 coats, thickest paint I've ever seen.

    Good tyres

Michelin Pilot Sports 3's. Went to Birmingham and back today (80 mile round trip down the A38) and the tyres were brilliant. Straight & true, highly recommend them.

Where to get a new starter motor from?

Honda really need to address prices like this, they're competing with Audi for parts and labour, when they should be more like Skoda/Ford.

    Good tyres

How long to new tyres generally need running in for? Bit damp on the way to work today and had a few scares on some islands.
