Hi. After the thing with my back I spent a couple of months disconnecting the battery when not in use. It even drained overnight when left unlocked so wasn't the alarm. Anyway all this time the light stayed out. Anyway a week or two ago I left it connected and locked car as normal. Next day...
It says no 3 bolt gasket included. Did you buy one or do you intend to reuse? If get one do you have a link? I'm not quite sure what I'd be searching for!
Thanks Steve. I didn't post for sympathy, I just don't want to be that guy who goes on forum, let's people advise then disappears presumably with a cure without so much as saying thanks. Seen that happen so many times.
Hi guys.
Last Tuesday I went out to it and battery was dead so I brought it in to charge it. Unfortunately I lifted it wrong and as a consequence I've been in bed 99% of the time since with my back. When I can walk again and have a look I will update this thread. Thanks for advice so far...
I'm not even gonna try get my head around that and how the lights are making the tailgate work. I'll just do what you said and look for the black wire.
Last night I had to use the button on drivers door to lock all locks then use key in driver door as lock button on fob wouldn't lock car...
Ah I've read that before, and replied. This tailgate thing is ongoing for me it seems. I'm leaning towards broken wiring now as it seems so common. Still can't see how turning lights on makes everything normal again though. I hate messing with cars nowadays and electrics are horrible :(
I'd considered loom damage. That would make perfect sense apart from the fact turning sidelights on makes the whole system behave/operate perfectly. Turning them off again sometimes fixes it for a while sometimes goes broken instantly again. I'm thinking bad earth. Does anyone know where the...
Hi everyone. I've got a really strange thing going on. I know there are lots of tailgate thread out there and I've trawled the net looking for clues etc to no avail.
I've had intermittent issues with the warning light coming on telling me the tailgate is open. I once concluded that it was...
Great news mate. As for the oil, he might mean piston rings. In fairness if it's not continually smoking and passes an mot I'd just leave it. Just make sure you change oil regularly. As for a thicker oil, if it was me I'd be inclined to use the proper oil. I say that purely because of posts...
In that video it doesn't really sound that bad (although I can hear it). It seems almost none existent on rev increase. Does it do it under load?
Anyway it seems you've gone ahead and decided to replace the turbo so I hope it fixes it :)
Freddo after reading a load of stuff I think you're right about MOT. I could ask my friend who is a tester to be sure. I must have just heard that somewhere, but the abs thing was really strange as the presence of it was masked pretty well...
I do know that if you have a database such as...
I've just watched that video and there's something really weird about that sound. Have you checked all the air box, air filter, air intake hoses?
I'm not discounting turbo damage but there's definitely something strange going on there. If it pulls fine with no smoke it's got to be something...
Ned if it didn't have tc on manufacture he won't, but if it did he should. The car specific info is given to him upon entering your reg, or probably VIN. I've known this happen years ago.
You already know what I'm going to say lol.. Illegal? I'm unsure. That's something for the construction and use regulations I suppose, of which I have NO knowledge.
As for passing an MOT, I won't express my own personal thoughts but it shouldn't pass, if the test is carried out properly.
