HIDs were the best mod I ever made to my Accord. Fitted mine myself, never needed adjusting, and never got flashed once in over a year of having them.
I think I bought them for £35. Money well spent.
That's part of what I heard, tyre degredation. That and the front tyres turning over all the crud on the road ready to puncture the rears. The other argument I heard was that a loss of grip at the rear was more serious than the front. I don't believe that for a second on a FWD.
I'd have thought it would be more logical to put the new tyres on the front, being a front wheel drive. But then what do I know, lol.
I've heard this discussion before, and I've heard good cases for both.
Looks like a lot of soot coming out when it does it's regeneration cycle.
I hope it's just one of those things that is new and still isn't mastered yet, cos a lot of people I know who've gone for DPF-equipped diesels have had very expensive problems. I wouldn't touch one, personally.
I couldn't quite understand the logic behind the DFP either. Sure, your emissions will look great, but then when your DFP hits it's regeneration cycle all the soot and crap it's been saving up gets billowed out anyway.
Slap me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the type-S only come in 2.4? You can get exec and SE variants of the 2.0, but never seen type-S.
If you want a good 2.0l 7th gen, I know a great one for sale, lol
I saw my Dad's when it was actually working on his Zafira. It would 'purge' every 800 miles or so. 15mins of thick black smog belting out of the back of the car, then back to normal. Hardly healthy.
Wouldn't power be down a bit anyway after 5 years wear and tear? Plus as Fahad said, manufacturer figures are always optimistic. Anyone see the top gear where Hammond put his GT500 on the dyno? lol, he was gutted.
