How strong are the dual masses on these, made of chocolate on early minded common rails. Hoping Honda are a bit stronger. What sort of mpg on stage 1 then bud.

Generally through my career I've just repaired cars, not tuned and mapped them. What is stage 1 plus delete like for mot smoke test? I agree egr are the main reason on modern diesel problems, so very tempting to get shot of it. How much can the clutch on these things comfortably handle...

    Dodgy paint!

It certainly is a headache. When they go into body shop for repair it's a nightmare, not only do you have to match colour you also have to match orange peel, especially if your using 2k and your finish will be better. Corrados where cool cars.

Yeah that's definitely plausible bud. Also I've been thinking since you mentioned it a little while ago whether someone has been messing with the ecu mapping. I just don't know how these cars drive as this is the only one I've ever driven. Maybe a remap and delete is in order. I had...

Cdi accord, full service with genuine parts. Car still doing about 29-30mpg. There is a fairly strong unburnt diesel smell outside, nothing inside. Flat spot when accelerating at around 2100-2500 rpm. New maf on order. Anyone know any common issues regarding mpg or flat spots on these...

That's a good effort matey. Pretty impressed. Will try and upload my last job if I can get photo bucket working. I do custom painting on bikes mainly for private work.

    Dodgy paint!

Bmw where the first to use high solid water based lacquer, when I was painting for Vauxhall my best mate was painting for bmw and when they changed he told me then, don't ever go over to it, It doesn't matter what we do we can't get the finish. Everyone eventually had to change and I hate the...

    Dodgy paint!

I don't know on price. Its not cheap that's for sure. You can't really replace good solid paint, but I do see clear wrap being,usefully... Best carbon wrap I've seen is by 3m, dinok or something like that. Problem I see with vinyl, it's a pigment and does fade. Its not workable like paint...

    Air con not working?

You can by diy 're gasing from auto parts places and halfrauds, not used one myself but am planning on it at some point. Maybe somebody else here has used one and can give you the low down. Only issue is If you have a leak which really needs regassing with the dye in which they check under uv.

    Bodywork quotes

150 for any panel is old school pricing, which means you probably got a,good old school painter, 2k boy..stick with him.

    Dodgy paint!

I don't think it's just jap cars, they are all going that way. It was the introduction of heavy solid water based paints, one coat is equal too 3 coats 2k...or so they tell us. I can't stand the stuff, it's a struggle to get a finish as good as 2k. One thing I thought of was getting the front...

    Air con not working?

Can't vouch for Honda but most makes I've worked on if gas pressure drops below a certain level the clutch won't engage. Best practice would possible following Brian's guide to check clutch. Mine doesn't work but suspecting low pressure. Didn't civics have a air con rad defect? Not sure if...
