RPM idle has doubled to 1500 after battery reconnection!

Because I was hoping to learn more from those with more knowledge in the world of Honda than me; alas it looks like that will not be the case. :( It was a rhetorical question to try and ascertain whether the implications in the thread were correct or not. As you say, move on...

RPM idle has doubled to 1500 after battery reconnection!

A bit touchy aren't we? You asked a question, I answered it.........simples! I'm just suprised that the answers on this thread seem to imply that the Honda ECU can't relearn basic settings after a battery disconnection and requires manual calibration using various tools and...

RPM idle has doubled to 1500 after battery reconnection!

After working in the electronics industry since leaving school and holding several related qualifications i'm well aware of what non-volatile memory is, thank you very much. Do you know what a feedback loop is? B)

RPM idle has doubled to 1500 after battery reconnection!

Be a pretty poor show if the Honda ECU can't relearn settings after a battery disconnection. :(

Anyone know best solution to chip ?

Try one of your local 'Chipsaway' type guys. Unfortunately they are all franchise so some are better than others, so you may want to look for a local recommendation. A lot of garages use these types of guys so you may be able to get a recommendation from your local.

Just bought my car....but hate the tyres!

Welcome to the forum. I've had my car for just over a month now, and my one and only complaint is the level of road noise. However I also had fairly new tyres on the front and i'm sure as they have worn the noise level has decreased a bit. Might be worth hanging on for a while. Also make sure...

    Honda Milano Red fading

I have a lot of experience with the sales of goods act, and you have omitted one important point from the above statement. The above applies to the quality, durability, etc. etc, at the time of sale. The 6year statuatory period is to cover faults and issues which could have been latent at the...

    Purchase help

I recently test drove a 2.4 auto and 2.0 auto back to back and in my opinion the 2.0 with auto felt a bit lethargic. I'd probably find it absolutely fine with a manual box.

    Spacers on 7th Gen

Those spacers are *ucking dangerous and an accident waiting to happen :( They may be hub centric against the hub, but there is no spigot for your wheels to fit onto and transfer load to the suspension. Notice the central spigot on the second ones you posted, by far a better design. Before...

Brake pedal travels to floor when car is idle

I think this is perhaps where some confusion is coming in for me (and maybe others) in that in your first post you say that the pedal starts to go to the floor, but you don't say whether it actually gets to the floor. But in your second post you are quite clear that the pedal is actually...

Brake pedal travels to floor when car is idle

I'm sorry, but i'm trying to understand what the problem is here. What you have described is pretty much standard operation for a servo ***isted braking system. Pump the pedal a little, hold pressure on the pedal and when you start the car the pedal should sink further. In fact it's a standard...

Issue with pads and disc's (Pic heavy)

That pad is definitely not seated\mounted correctly. It should be parallel to the face of the disk.
