Totally normal for the steering racks to make noise when the steering wheel is rocked back and fouth and the engine isn't running. If you do the same thing with the engine running you should hardly hear anything ,well nothing compared to with the engine off.

Just to update this...I got it done at the weekend...All good now,clutch bites a lot lower and it's easier to press too.

I was lucky enough to see a person who did fobs on ebay for all cars.All I had to do with send him my reg number and he told me which one I needed.Got it and now coded and works a treat.It was a new fob sent with the coding instructions all in £30.

Hi, Some point soon hopefully this weekend I will be doing the clutch on my 1.8 sport (01) and it seems as if there's no manual like a Haynes book so does anybody know what the correct torque is for the pressure plate bolts? Thanks.
