You should use a tar remover and not reply on the clay bar to do it as this will just cause marring.
This is why you leave clay barring to the end so that it only picks up the vary smallest traces of contaminants and not damage the paint.
You need to get them sealed using a Nano Sealant or a Wheel Wax to keep them looking new and protect them from all of the dirt, grime and brake dust.

All paintwork wax'd as well as door shuts and boot shuts. Wheels sealed and tyres dressed. Interior plastics cleaned and tyres dressed with Long Life Tyre Gel.
This car never had any form of machine polishing.
It could have done with it though - even after 4 months, and only under the lighting that I have in my studio or in direct sunlight, you could see evidence of light wash marring and swirls.
