    7th Gen value...

Well, for info I just sold mine to a friend (the 3rd he has bought from me!). 06 (facelift) icdti ex with ~77k on the clock, almost imaculate(few stone chips on the front edge of bonnet only). No 'service history' but recently serviced & I'm known for being picky about proper maintenance & tend...

facelift EGR - removal & cleaning

Nice to be able to give something back. That would have worked for me as well as the issue was a mechanical fault with the valve sticking open (until it was left overnight). If the delete never operates the valve then it would remain closed & hence never stick open :)

Injector leak back results(hot start problem)

You were spot on :) I did look seriously at the 8th gen, but I needed an auto this time & the 8th gen auto didn't give me that big grin feeling. As I had to clear out some stuff from the garage to fit it in I decided the Jag would also (just!) fit. When I compared the 2 I preferred the XF. Now...

facelift EGR - removal & cleaning

Your welcome, & thanks for the help. From the photos you can see the vac capsule is held by 4 cap head bolts, so in an extreme case where all else has failed it might be even be worth separating the parts to get at the bits easier.

facelift EGR - removal & cleaning

After finally solving a starting problem (mostly hot start) I thought I would finally post the pics in case it helps others. This was discussed in this thread I had been through the route of cleaning the IMRC etc to no avail. Once again it was F6HAD that suggested the EGR as the source of the...

Injector leak back results(hot start problem)

Let me start by apologising for the massive delay in posting the outcome to this. I've since sold the car (to a friend) & changed to a Jag XF & only remembered this the other day. I tried the trick of clamping (disconnecting) the vac pipe from the actuator & this seemed to stop the fault but I...

Injector leak back results(hot start problem)

Thanks again for the reply. I'll try my bodge then to see if it cures it when the fault returns, or maybe just use a mityvac to pump it shut when I get another difficult start & see if it cures it. I'll post back when the fault is deemed to be cured...

Injector leak back results(hot start problem)

Thanks for the reply fahad. Dont know why I typed EGR as it was one thing I didnt remove  Guess what? since posting the car has been 200 miles, stopped & restarted about 10 times & always started perfectly...but in the past this fault has cleared only to reappear again. When you say...

Injector leak back results(hot start problem)

Hi, Sorry if this is a long post, but this issue has been nagging me for quite a while now. Car: 06 Accord icdti with 75K on it background; This issue started out as an intermittant starting problem and finally became a 'classic' hot start issue several weeks ago. When the engine had been...

    I-CTDI crank position sensor replacement

For what its worth, I did this on my 06 diesel, don't know if is different on an 04 model. part number 28820-PWR-013 was the item I replaced & was sold as the crank pickup. Strangley it was located at the clutch end of the engine, if I remember actually on the bellhousing(or whatever its called...
