Airbag recall. How dangerous is the issue

Cheers, I'll give them a call first as they are 20 miles away. I have been wondering about swapping the car for a Civic but the road tests tell me the petrol ones are sluggish and we can't have a diesel due to short journeys and DPF issues. Accord goes like a rocket if needed.

Airbag recall. How dangerous is the issue

Seems we can't just " get it done" Honda says they are waiting for sufficient supplies and will send further instructions when they are ready. The issue is damp getting into the propellant which causes a bigger bang than it should. In the USA one lady had a minor bump and was killed. Police...

Airbag recall. How dangerous is the issue

Had a letter from Honda the other day re the recall to replace possible faulty airbag/s On reading more about this, it seems the issue could be serious as some people are said to have been injured by shards of metal in even a small impact which caused the airbag to deploy. How concerned are...

    Suspension lower arm costs

ED209, Can you tell us what the work cost including parts? Mine was £300 including an MOT at £40. Main stealer ( as some call them ) wanted nearly £600 just for the arms, fitted. BTW, I noted that everything needed to be tightened up whilst the axle was loaded and not just hanging in mid air...

    Suspension lower arm costs

Hi Wookie, Can you clarify what you have seen with non-genuine parts, please. Garage chap, who also does MOT's said the ones he fitted were the same thing but without the Honda label. He was not the one who said they were needed, by the way; that was a main dealer who serviced the car. Cheers T

Fluid leak from below offside headlight

Yes, I have seen the issue of the O ring on YouTube though that particular one was not an Accord, it was another Honda model. Seems the O ring was allowing air bubbles to reach the reservoir. There has been a TSB on it and the black O ring was to be replaced with a red one. As mentioned, the...

Fluid leak from below offside headlight

Thanks. Wish it was. The air con drain seems to be much further back and this fluid loss is accompanied by a drop in fluid level in the power steering reservoir. I put a tray under the drip to catch it and it definitely oil. Cheers :( T

    Suspension lower arm costs

Job has been done now at a cost of £300 including an MOT ( passed) versus a quote from the main dealer of nearly £600 for fitting the lower arms.

Fluid leak from below offside headlight

Hi folks, Though my 2004 Accord with 84,000 miles passed the MOT a month ago, I now see a fluid leak has appeared. It leaves a mark on the ground below the offside headlight and the fluid seems to be lost from the power steering system. I top up the resevoir and it slowly drops, not a lot...

    Suspension lower arm costs

Many thanks for all yiur replies, folks. Much appreciated.. So it appears the bushes can be bought separately and pressed in. I guess the main dealers will want to sell the whole units complete. Always seemed like a terrible waste to do that. Thanks again. Best regards T.

    Suspension lower arm costs

Hi folks, My 2004 Accord (85000 miles) has just had a service and 'Health Report' from a main dealer. All checks came up good except for both suspension lower arm bushes listed as defective. Service chap said it was not an MOT failure problem but suggested they be replaced at a cost of...

DIY 7th Gen Pre-Facelift Diesel Fuel Filter Change

I had my Accord checked by a main dealer and was told the fault codes indicated an ECU problem with a £2000 cost to fix. I asked the folks here on this forum what the fault codes I was given really meant and was told one was a partially blocked fuel filter and the other was something minor...

DIY 7th Gen Pre-Facelift Diesel Fuel Filter Change

I took the cowards way out and had the job done by a dealer. £100 or so including the proper Bosch filter. Pay up and save some hassle was my plan. Hope this helps. T
