Rear passenger footwell carpet wet through

It might be worth giving the windscreen seals a good check. My inital symptoms were a swimming pool in the back. It turned out it was coming from the windcreen, down the front passenger footwell and into the back of the car. The rubber seal around the windcreen wipers had come away front the...

Partial Respray on Arctic Pearl Blue

Thanks spud, I had a feeling it would be a bit of an expensive job. Many of the little spots are just white and not through to the metal, like it's the top coat, so may polish out with a proper polisher, there are a few proper stone hits though. I'll swing by a couple of bodyshops and see what...

Partial Respray on Arctic Pearl Blue

My accord is 10 years old and spend a good 5-6 years on daily trips up and down the motorway. It's picked up some pretty bad road rash on the leading edges like bonnet, wing mirrors, pillars around the windscreen. The rest of the car is in very good condition for it's age, so would like to get...

When to change a 10 year old car.

I also have a 10yr old Accord, currently at 118k. Its been a solid car, extremely reliable. We've been "giving it another year" for about 3 years now. It has cost me considerably less in the last few years since I decided at 70k to just get the local garage to do servicing. It just felt like...

High pitched whistle - turbo?- or something much worse?

I have a whiney alternator and it's much higher pitched than that. However i have a petrol and it seems to occur in a similar fashion. My wife also describes it as like a distant police siren. Does it become more pronounced when the A/C is on (alternator under higher load)?

    falling clutch pedal

What exactly are the symptoms? Heavy, squeaky/creaking clutch or is the clutch not actually engaging causing crunching gear changes etc?

Driver floor never dry for half year

I had this problem on the passenger side. Check the rubber seal at the bottom corner of the windscreen, if it's raised even slightly it's enough to let water find it's way inside. Fix with some black silicone sealer from your local factors which costs a few pounds.Make sure that the water is...

    Key fob battery change

I've also got a key fob problem. Keys are both flat (no red light), replaced the batteries in both, still, both keys are dead (no light), is this common? ***ume after 10 years of being thrown around the transponders have gone. Ordered one off of ebay for £25. I've seen the programming technique...

    stone chips turning rusty

10 year warranty doesn't cover stone chips or (my) badly flaking alloys sadly.

    stone chips turning rusty

I've been working on my chips and scratches recently. Halfords own brand rubbing compound is 3 quid for a big yellow tube. It took out most scratches. Even some I thought would need paint. I also got them to mix me a bottle of touch up paint which was about £9 for 100ml which is loads and the...

    iacv?

I'm actually just wondering if the unusually hot weather is doing it. Given the ecu has been driving about in usual scottish cold weather. Also going to try different petrol. I usually just go to the local supermarket. My brother's bmw idles like ***** on supermarket petrol.

    iacv?

When its warm and fans/ac/stereo off idles around 600 then if the radiator fans kick in goes down to about 500 and almost stalls. However if I have the ac or the fans on it seems to idle about 750-800 and all seems fine.

    iacv?

Well the engine has done 110k faultless miles. So even if the iacv needs attention soon its served me well!
