    Whining/Siren sound from Engine Bay

Right, just picked up the car with a new reconditioned turbocharger, the whining sound has gone, but the oil pressure pipe which Honda supplied me was the wrong part (took it back got a refund earlier) so the mechanic cleaned the old one and other surrounding pipes and refitted those and he...

Hi Jon, Thats if the last place changed the oil pipe, which i dont think they did!

    Whining/Siren sound from Engine Bay

Right, just picked up the oil pressure pipe that goes into the turbocharger, this could be the culprit of the whining noise, could be ! If this pipe is partially blocked, no oil is fed into the turbo to lubricate the bearings, from what i have been told. Heres the pipe, £43 from Honda :( Will...

I got it off Ebay via LondonTurbo's; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221649274874?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

    Whining/Siren sound from Engine Bay

When you say under load, i'm ***uming with more people in the car?? It doesnt make any difference. The sound does indeed reduce once the car has warmed up, which tells me the bearings in the turbo have been lubricated by the oil and the sound reduces.

Just had the engine cut out while driving to work. Engine management light and VSA light lit

It happened to me once before, the engine would be running no problem, but the accelerator wouldnt work at all, turned it off, then restarted it and it was fine. Did a fault code check and as jon said, accelerator Pedal position sensor showed up, cleared the codes, done a master reboot...

I just purcahsed some new alloys!

just watch those pot holes buddy! Thats what i dont like about low profile tyres, hit one ditch and it'll burst that tyre and damage the alloy, otherwise looking very nice, enjoy it!

    Whining/Siren sound from Engine Bay

Just done another recording as you requested, rev'd it up a bit more for you to hear. Only smokes on a cold start which could be condensation in the exhaust, or if i havent driven the car for a few days it will smoke more. http://www83.zippyshare.com/v/pmOj9zMm/file.html

    Whining/Siren sound from Engine Bay

Hi Muzzy, From all the research and feedback i've received, i believe the whining sound is the turbo fan rubbing against the bearings inside the turbo, which means the bearings are on their way out! This is what i believe from what i've been told. I also had my turbo reconditioned only 18...

    Heel Toe Driveshafts

I havent tried them personally, but i've been told they dont last as long. A lot of people have had problems with them from what i have been told.

    Heel Toe Driveshafts

I replaced both my driveshafts by a company called Drivetech and the bearing in the half shaft at the same time due to the usual vibration sounds and high mileage on the motorway, been using them for 3 years now, performing very well and have done over 30k with them still going strong ! Avoid...

    Whining/Siren sound from Engine Bay

I was just having a conversation with the mechanic who is going to check my car on Thursday, and he is telling me that with all diesel cars, as they age they need a different grade of oil. He is telling me to use 10w-40 Castrol Magnitec. Someone on this thread mentioned to try a change of oil...

Thanks for the info Guy, its much appreciated and always good to have another opinion. I am still looking into this and the car is going in for a diagnostic on Thursday to find the cause of the problem. And thanks for the link.

    Heel Toe Driveshafts

If i can remember correctly, the half shaft has a bearing which you can change so you dont have to buy the whole thing?? I could be mistaken here.

    Tire calibrate function

That is exactly what i've done, got use to it, but the best thing i tried was to fit slightly bigger tyres which helped a lot ! Low profiles are a big no no. Went from 225/45/17 to 225/50/17 , not only is the steering more solid but the overall drive is much better and smoother.

    Tire calibrate function

Had alignment done a lot of times, sometimes 3-4 times a year with at least half a tank, never really checked that as the front left always seems to be out, the rest are fine. Had various suspension parts/bushes, bearings, tyres you name it, always done alignment on hunter machine and even after...
