    Air Con/Radiator Fans

Well - Alty change went well (around 1.5 hrs thanks to SAL's DIY). No rattling noise -YIPPEEE! (for now anyway!) Whilst I was was in there disconnected and reconnected all aircon related connectors and checked wiring etc, but still nothing - no fans when a/c is on, and no change to idle when...

    DIY Alternator change

Thanks for this SAL, changed my alternator this morning (took about 1 and a half hours in total) - hardest bit was the lower fan shroud bolts (as you mentioned), but rest was straight forward thanks to your walkthrough. Touch wood - no rattling noise so far, so jobs a good 'un! Aircon still...

    Air Con/Radiator Fans

I know!! As much as I love it, I hate it at the moment!! If you know what I mean! At the min my main issues are just the aircon and alternator, but knowing my luck I'll change the alty and the noise will still be there!! If I can get to December with it, when mot is due and get it thru that...

    Air Con/Radiator Fans

Thanks CJ - I'll check on these in the morning when I change my alternator. Tomorrow could be a big day for my car - it will determine our future together (if there is one that is!!). Can't complain though really - almost done 200k in it and had very little go wrong (until now! - Aircon and...

    Air Con/Radiator Fans

I know the part number for the relay is PFKL571878, but there are potentially 5 of these that are both aircon/fan related (according to my owners manual) - Joe public price is £21.24 per relay - so I'm not going to swap them all in one fail swoop. I'm going to unplug all aircon related...

    Air Con/Radiator Fans

Had an aircon specialist out to look at my aircon - been putting it off - but with various issues with the car etc thought i'd get it done. He checked for leaks and ruled that out - checked power to the compressor and nothing. He messed around with a few things - he heard the click when...

    Power Steering Fluid

Noticed that we should only use Hondas own (V, II or S) - I have 2.2. diesel. Is this correct, if not what would you recommend as alternatives? Also - would you recommend a full drain and is this easy enough to do? Or should I just top up? I lost a bit of fluid when diagnosing my alternator...

    Alternator

Cheers Salim, Trust me - I have studied your DIY (in great detail!!) I have a lovely homemade spanner/tool for the tensioner (lost loads of hair over that last week whilst trying to pinpoint what my fault was, plus a fair amount of knuckle skin!!!) But - excellent write up on the DIY - can't...

    Alternator

Thanks mate - I did ring HH and ask them and they said it looks like there is only on alternator (for Accord and CRV) - so I'm touching wood, everything crossed etc etc that it's gonna be OK!! - Worst case scenario I can hopefully take pulley and bearings from the CRV one and swap them over!

Would that be the CSC91 number?

    Alternator

Yeah - think I may go for the shorter belt - but didn't do too bad out of the longer one - almost 200k!! Checked Lings again and it shows as exactly the same part (the alternator that is) - Accord 04 2.2 Diesel iCTDi same as CRV 2005 2.2 Diesel iCTDi. ****** thing is being delivered tomorrow -...

    Alternator

I'm thinking of swapping out my alternator (following noises etc see my previous posts) was gonna change pulley /bearings but thinking about swapping the whole unit out. Am I right in saying that the unit is the same as in the CRV??? Lings have the diesel 2.2 down as a CSC91 Denso for the...

Easy way of removing Aux Belt?

Thanks for that - I have the car booked in with Honda Warrington on tuesday £128 to supply and change the pulley (they matched HH's price) - which seemed ok to me. How much extra should I expect to pay for the bearings?? Is there 2 sets on there? And how much extra labour should I expect them...

Easy way of removing Aux Belt?

Cheers mate - couldn't believe what a pain the tensioner was!! Got it off ok, but had to resort to buying a new swan neck spanner and cutting off one end and putting it into some pipe, as I just couldn't get the leverage!! Should have prepared before hand but knew what I had to do thanks to...

Easy way of removing Aux Belt?

Update - had the belt off and no noise - although spun the pulleys (including alternator) and didn't notice any play or grinding or anything out of the norm. Should I bite the bullet and get a new/recon alternator?
