6th gen 1.8 abs light help!

I don't think you could get a more detailed report without otherwise going to a main dealer. Is your speedo working?

Turning the sidelights on when unlocking the car

I suspect for a novice it might be a bit complicated to wire up if it can be done. I was just looking at installing puddle lights under my mirrors that will need spliced to the interior light wire, so a bit similar you could say. Is there any reason why you want side lights specifically?

seat belt not retracting as it should

Cheers I'll have a look. Mine does retract but it needs some encouragement, although its been that way for a while and never been noted on the MOT.

seat belt not retracting as it should

Guess mine needs a clean, its a bit slow retracting to be honest. Is the trim just clipped on?

    6th Gen. Whats this bracket/pipe?

..and finally the cause of the problem FUEL LEAK some old patches on the ground (not so obvious at the time as old cars, poorly maintained cars can leak fluids) but as they lined up during the main leak it was obvious to an intermittent leak. Ingnore the excess wash, that was me rinsing away...

    6th Gen. Whats this bracket/pipe?

As cylinder one will be at TDC on CAM, then lets check the CRANK is set accordingly Debated with Honda on this one with no resolve, They claim that the timing is within Honda tolerances, I argue that the mark and sight akin to a rifle sight wouldn't be so precise if the crank marker could...

    6th Gen. Whats this bracket/pipe?

Guys just to update this thread and hopefully finish it off for good. I continued investigating this hesitation issue which only appeared shortly after my MOT, which required fuel lines - OEM and fitted by Honda. I'll try and summarise what happened, what checks I carried out and what...

    Considering LPG - Advise less

Nice one, I have a relative (non Honda) who runs an LPG system and he raves about it. Keep the thread upto date if you go for it, would be interesting to hear anothers 6th Gen's experience. ;)

    Considering LPG - Advise less

Its something I've thought about, but don't do anywhere near the mileage. Can you live with lost boot space? Are you going to install a FlashLube type cooling system and additional running costs? What are the additional LPG servicing costs? Are LPG and petrol MPGS the same, does a litre of gas...

    Jacking points/axle stands

What kind of jack do you have? I jack on the rear hook with an Arcan 1.8ton just on plywood (only to protect the jack and road surface), I don't need blocks above. Have you maybe got air in the jack hydraulics because mine does this sometimes and it won't lift the car and if you didn't know...

    handbrake cable removal from caliper

Nice one John, did you get a look at your slide pins or boots? They might have seen a bit of heat too, unless you replaced the carrier at the same time of course ;-)

    Center caps question.

I'll take a guess, but its only a guess that it is the same. Here is the info from Lings for my wheel, I have the same wheel in 16" size http://www.lingshondaparts.com/honda_car_parts_selection_pfk.php?block_01=17S1T01&block_02=08W1604&block_03=2653...

    handbrake cable removal from caliper

Thats odd, don't know what that could be although looks like bitumen. Probably some form of grease that's not been able to withstand the heat I'd guess. Were your calipers seizing, is that why you replaced them? Thats the outboard brake pad going on the imprint of that caliper housing marks...

    Crankshaft Oil Seal

I take it you have ruled out a crank holding tool? This does the petrols, not sure about diesels. http://www.amazon.com/Powerbuilt-648796-Cranks-Pulley-Removal/dp/B0000TMLWQ/
