Hi everybody,
When my 2005 CL7 sport was purchased the dealership would have offered a number of personalized optional extras which would just require a certain configuration from the ecu or a sequence of key turns etc. To give you an idea as specifically what options i'm talking about these...
Thanks Jon_G. I just topped up a little water in the end until i can do a full change.
Its the first long trip in my CL7 so quite excited to see how to does on a 4 hour venture B) .
Cheers for the help and info
hi guys, silly question but i am doing a few last minutes checks before a long journey.
I'm not sure when the coolant was last changed but it is purple and seems to be topped up fine.
Is there anything else i should check with this before I leave (bearing in mind I will be changing the coolant...
I forgot to add... 3rd only crunches when shifting up from 2nd to 3rd. downshifting seems to be fine.
The oil was warm(ish) as per the advise as it apparently drains better due to the viscosity etc etc.
I have a few long trips in the coming weeks to London and back so this should add on a...
** Another quick update guys **
The transmission shifts much better than before... however there are a couple of things i picked up.
1) The third gear is smoother but still feels like its grinding from time to time especially in high revs
2) If i drive like a normal human being nice and steady...
Thanks for the write up... i have just brought a set of JBL GTO 398's for the rear deck... was unsure whether speaker adaptor's were needed but you answered this.
I have however brought a wiring kit so i can still use the OE connection to my new Pioneer head unit.
In time i will dig out my old...
** Just a little update peeps **
Went onto Opie Oils and brought 3 bottles of Redline MTL 75w 80 GL-4 (1 Quart per bottle)
I believe my transmission takes 2.1Lrs... please correct me if i'm wrong.
If i get a chance this weekend i will be popping this in.
To be fair it was was quite pricey @...
Thank you Cliffordski. You have opened my eyes to the wonderful world of Transmission fluids.
Hopefully this thread will help other accord owners out who may also be in limbo. I Will be giving this a go in the next few weeks and will be providing an update there after.
Cheers
Thanks you all for the helpful advise and links. So atm I am leaning towards Redline MTL and at £19 for just over 900ml it's expensive but much much cheaper than getting a rebuild lol.
I have read and heard that changing the transmission fuild once only replaces rougly 50-60% of the original...
Hi guys,
I think my third gear synchro is starting to go, I had my clutch replaced when the car was purchased and had the transmission fluid replaced with Honda MTF.
Due to financial circumstances I can not afford to pay for the transmission to be taken out again, cracked open to then inspect...
morning,
so after checking each individual wire in the oem harness everything checked ok - constant power was fine, ignition etc all checked ok.
I then decided to check all the fuses again... and to my surprise i had missed 1 fuse which had blown.
Replaced the fuse, tested oem stereo worked...
i've just connected the HU iso into the oem loom for now.
Just making sure but what fuse(s) are used to power the oem stereo? as i have already replaced inspected the audio fuse and it had not blown - replaced it anyways.
I've got a funny feeling it may be the oem loom thats fried. How...
I had searched for this issue within the forum but was unable to find something which matches this particular issue.
If anyone does come across an older post please let me know,

Whilst I was connecting the harness one of the cables from the Metra harness touched the oem unit metal cage causing the short, it...
