Same in northern UK - in Autumn spraying Hammerite seal underneath or putting grease on the rusted areas helps

Transmission Fluid - Friction Modified vs the rest!

Just changed my transmission fluid for this - very smooth changes now http://www.hunt4spares.co.uk/comma-mvmtf-75w-80-fully-synthetic-gear-oil---mvp75805l-5-litres-4822-p.asp and there's enough left in the can to do it again in 2 years.

Apparently I managed the impossible and killed a Honda engine

Yes, well, when a source tells us for example that a Tourer tailgate should always be shut automatically when said tailgate has a manual handle installed in it, or that lack of a splashguard is an MOT fail, we realise that even the most wonderful people of all aren't always infallible.

Apparently I managed the impossible and killed a Honda engine

Toyota Avensis for me next time - DIY friendly - for example compare this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BORG-BECK-BBJ5625-BALL-JOINT-LOWER-L-R-fit-Toyota-Avensis-T27-08/291290814262?epid=1434572444&hash=item43d2491736:g:6ekAAOSw~y9ZCGGi to the BS you have to go through to change the Honda one

    Tourer exhaust

I went OEM - you know it'll fit perfectly and it won't split a year or two later like aftermarket stainless ones sometimes do. Your front flexi pipe might go soon as well. Par for the course with a 13 year old car.

    2005 2.2 iCDTi Gearbox fault?

Good call - but wouldn't there still be enough drive in the shaft that hasn't gone to move the car ?

    2005 2.2 iCDTi Gearbox fault?

Maybe your DMF has separated. But we're all just speculating here. Let's wait for the diagnosis tomorrow.

    Bad Vibrations/Shudder Under Braking

I used TRW rear discs and was unimpressed. They didn't look/feel well made to me when I fitted them, were corroding within weeks during mid-summer, and so badly scored after a year that I replaced them. They weren't cheap to buy either. The best I've used are Unipart, ATE and genuine. Not...

Silent block replacement in the lower control arm

No - I'd ***umed you have a 7th Generation Accord. As investments go I've found this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ROTHENBERGER-SUPER-FIRE-2-BRAZING-TORCH-AND-HEAT-MAT-BRAND-NEW-FREE-UK-DELIVERY/332556748165?epid=28003304831&hash=item4d6ded4585:g:tPQAAOSwkLhaTQnQ invaluable for removing corroded...

Silent block replacement in the lower control arm

If you want a challenge why bother with the kit - just pull them out with your teeth. If the bushes have seized in the arm then you can hacksaw the metal surround off the compliance bush and remove them that way. But if the others are seized they might need pressing out with a hydraulic press...

Silent block replacement in the lower control arm

Just buy new arms with new bushes already fitted - and save yourself a lot of blood, sweat and tears.

But worth budgeting for a clutch and exhaust if they've not been done yet.

    Scam?

Seems to me highly unlikely they did very low mileage during the first part of the 3 years and then stellar mileage for the rest of it. Much more likely that because their mileage was so low during the whole of the 3 years that they didn't bother with any more services during the rest of the 3...
