    Engine noise

Whirring is often what it sounds like, I heard 2.0 litre Mk7 with a whirring and it was the alternator not sure if it was the one way pulley or the actual bearings in the Alternator itself. They are simple to repair in the alternator, the pulley is just replacement.

    Engine noise

I think they are a freewheeling pulley so can go bad and you should check the bearings in the alternator at the same time.

    Rear Brake Piston

Its one of a few vegetable based greases, be warned that the red colour transfers to the brake fluid so the initial flush will appear red. That Bendix stuff looks very interesting, not just one application by the looks of it. There is a ceramic grease available here in a white colour by Mintex...

Dreaded ABS, VSA, TSA dashboard lights

You used to be able to buy coloured brake fluid from ATE, Super Blue, it made brake fluid changes very easy, just use blue this time and yellow the next. It was discontinued for road use some years ago after it was found that the DOT (US) regulations specified a straw colour liquid not blue...

    Rear Brake Piston

I rebuilt the rear calipers on my 7th Gen Tourer when I had it, I stripped the caliper completely back to bare metal and heated it with a blowtorch (burning my finger where the bleed nipple hole is), but once dried like that its easy to get all the crud out of the grooves for the seal and...

    Wheel size

I have been running them for years, for a long time they were winter tyre specialists and still are to a large degree, however over the last few years Nokian started to sell more summer orientated Models. They work well here because they work in cool and damp conditions which as you know are...

Does brand and pleats of an air filter matter?

Personally I like the stock Honda ones, they do a great job of catching dirt. I think the plain non oiled ones are cheaper but why would Honda go to all the trouble of speccing an oiled filter if it wasn't necessary?

Weird mis match with the radiator reserve tank

Open the cap and shine a flashlight into the hole, the level will be visible with illumination.

I have Nokian Powerproof fitted replacing GY Eagle F1 Asy 5 and I must say the Nokian are everything I wanted them to be in cool damp and frosty conditions. Nokian are a favoured brand for me and I have had great service from many of their models over the years, The Finns know how to build a...

Check the earth cable to the body as well, poor earth will give strange results as well.
