DC5 brembo front calipers upgrade option for 7th gen

Didn't someone on here do a Type S upgrade? Brakes from the 2.2 i-DTEC. Think they were bigger again than the ATR set?

DC5 brembo front calipers upgrade option for 7th gen

I looked into the same upgrade for my CL7 Euro R. As std it has the same 300x25mm single pot caliper setup as the 2.4 and diesel. It also has a tendancy to warp discs. Icetronix offer the dc5 upgrade. The only issue being wheel clearance and thus having to run spacers. The main benefit...

Airbag light intermittent. 2003 euro R

2003 CL7 Euro R owner here. Believe the seat should have a sensor in it a plug underneath that plugs into the wiring loom. The main reason being you get an indicator on the dash reminding you to put your seat belt on? First off, check that its plugged in?

Advice on CL7 Euro R before I buy!

I don't think so. My insurance is through Sky insurance. Before I bought mine I had an ITR DC2 98 Spec japanese import. The insurance company wouldn't insure the Euro R. So Sky - the broker found another company. I made sure they knew it was a CL7 Euro R, not a CH1 Accord Type R or a CL1 Euro R...

Advice on CL7 Euro R before I buy!

As for my car... I originally put it up for sale, when we moved back to South Wales and I was still working in Hereford, with the aim of looking for a diesel for the commute. In the meantime, I have got a new job, which is only 10 miles away. Was toying with the idea of selling the car, to get...

Advice on CL7 Euro R before I buy!

Seem to have a couple more minutes to myself. In 2012, we found out we were expecting our first baby. At the time I had a dc2 ITR and had just sold a mk4 golf diesel. So p/x the ITR in for a 2003 Accord Euro R. Mike gave a good price for the ITR (98 Spec JDM import) and got a good discount on...

Advice on CL7 Euro R before I buy!

It would be similar to a Type S, can see the interior is not Recaro (std seats, wheel, controls), the steering wheel is not a Momo item either, found a quick youtube vid, sounded like the 2.4 not the K20A 2.0. Longer ratios, no LSD. Although seems to have the same wheels?

Advice on CL7 Euro R before I buy!

I currently own a blue Accord Euro R CL7, also imported by Mike at Torque GT. Torque GT are a very good company to do business with and attentive. When I have got a bit more time, I will reply in full and lots of info. Any specific questions - feel free to ask in here or drop me a PM?

vibration through car 55mph to 70mph

Sounds like worn driveshafts. I used to have a 2005 diesel accord. It wasn't at higher speeds (unbalanced wheel) or when braking (warped discs). It was when accelerating, I.e. putting torque through the driveshafts. I put in a request to one of the car breaker services (where the request goes...

    Silly question about Wiper

Agreed. Dealer prices were pretty reasonable for genuine blades. If you have a pre-facelift car would recommend doing the post facelift upgrade. B)

How do you fit an aftermarket stereo in the 7th Gen?

I have done a stereo retro fit on my 7th gen Accord Euro R. Has a momo wheel, no stereo buttons so no need to worry about them. The std accord antenna uses a standard plug, so just needs to be unplugged and plugged into the new stereo. I also have DAB. I have a DAB aerial stuck to inside of my...

    Torn between petrol and diesel

I have had a diesel Accord and now have a petrol Accord 2.0 (the 220bhp Euro R version). If you are not doing the miles don't get a diesel. They are more complicated, more likely to go wrong, need to be looked after more and more expensive when they go wrong. Couple this with the fact the car...

Headlights - Are they Xenon or Halogen...?

Thats what I did. A 20mm circle cutter that you attach to a drill. The HIDs I bought had rubber gromits on the cable running from the bulbs to the ballasts. They pop in the holes to keep the newly cut holes sealed.

Headlights - Are they Xenon or Halogen...?

When I did a HID retrofit on the diesel I cut a hole into the back of the headlight cap. However, I believe another member took the headlight out and there is a hole underneath through which you can feed the wires. Then you can secure the ballasts out of sight under the lamps.

Headlights - Are they Xenon or Halogen...?

Powerbulbs is where I got replacement HID bulbs for the Euro R from. The had bogof on philips bulbs. £80 for pair. Did try halfords but they were £85 each. Then they would only sell them to me (even though they were easily available on the shop floor) if they could charge me another £10 to fit...

What is your manual gearbox like?

How many miles have you got on the clutch? I've had two Hondas were the clutch wore, but they didn't just fail. They made changing gears harder and harder till they did fail.
