    Replacement Discs and Pads options?

When I first got my saloon (i-CDTI) in 2009 I had the discs and pads done by Steels in Hereford for £300. The next time around, I got my mate to fit them (so labour is cheap admittedly) but I bought OEM equivalent for EBC - discs and pads. £150 fitted. £125 for parts. IIRC.

    It didnt wanna go.....

Yep. Main relay located under the dash. Depending on your hearing , you can usually hear the fuel pump prime just before starting the car. This known issue is for hot starting. Just like you describe. Start the car cold, no worries. Drive to the petrol station turn it off. Fill her up. Pay. Have...

Well I was hoping for a bit more than this.....

With the climate control set to Auto, you are running around with the air-con on all the time. Press the A/C button and you'll notice the display with then say "A/C off".

    remap, how much quicker?

I think those German one are running a higher natural compression? Honda could have gone for a 2.0l, got the same power, higher natural compression, but they were not happy with how smooth and quiet the engine would be. So by going to 2.2L, and using the variable geomety turbo, they could get...

    time to replace my driveshafts

When I replaced my driveshafts (done before Christmas) went to car breakers. Go to one of the search websites. Put in all the required info, it gets sent off to the breakers. Got a fair few calls and emails back. Picked up the Passenger side driveshaft for £47.00 delivered. The drivers side and...

    remap, how much quicker?

I'll add my experience to the mix. First question, what do you mean by quicker? Over a 1/4 mile? Around a track? Or everyday driving on the road? 1/4 Mile - From a standing start the diesel (and I believe remapped as well) will not be able to keep up with the 2.4 Around a track, I don't think...

Folding rear seats in 04 Exec with leather?

In the saloon, go into the boot. At the top of the seat backs, underside of the rear shelf are two fabric loops. Pull the fabric loops to release the seat backs. HTH :D

    Shell Fuelsave

Still using this. MPG down to 41.1 mpg. But not been doing the long runs. Some town driving. In the cold weather, lots of starting the car before deicing it. Heated seats. Lots of air con, etc. Not bad. Due the 150k mile service in 500 miles.

    Wobble through steering wheel

Hi guys. Just got info back from the garage. In the end I bought a full set of drive shafts (passenger, intermediate, drivers). Same as Salim had, the passenger side driveshaft was knackered (although this was the one that didn't have any play in it). It wasn't until we changed this one that...

    Headlight Washer problem

IIRC the washers rely on the washer fluid pressure to raise the sprayer out of the bumper to spray the headlight. So if the washer fluid has frozen the sprayer wont even lift out of the bumper. Hence sometimes the sprayer wont shut properly either when its cold (had this in the last week). Just...

    Wobble through steering wheel

That's a fair point about the wheel balancing. I bought the tyres on the internet and had them fitted by hi-q in cardiff. I left them to it and found that they hadn't balanced the wheels. Took it to Hereford hi-q and they balanced the tyres. I will get them checked and report back. Cheers.
