    Lowering Springs

I would go for Eibach's, as they have a diesel specific pro kit (30/35 mm drop). But you need to be careful with the standard shocks. They will go in a few miles with the lower springs. The ideal situation is to change shocks and springs (coilovers maybe?) so that they match each other. If you...

Do I have high voltage discharge tubes? Can I replace them if so?

The manual is refering to HID lamps (high-intensity discharge), or xenon lamps. The usual lamps are safe to replace.

Faulty timing chain - advice needed!

Oh boy, left the car in the dealer yesterday. They sad the noise is coming from the chain. The are proposing the case to Honda Portugal, for a free replacement. Don't know what will happen, as I missed the 100.000 km service (no stamp on the book), although I made the service myself (oil...

    DIY Exhaust Mod

I use to do this in my cars, mainly for rust prevention. And yes, it does look much better! Good job!

    Noisy or Rattling timing chain

Maybe CJ can help me on this. I'm planning to take the car to Honda because of the rattle (which became louder when starting the car), and just needed to know, if possible, if the extended warranty of 7 years is available in Portugal too. Just to go there and have some info backing me up. Thanks!

Faulty timing chain - advice needed!

Can any one tell me if it's simple for Honda to check visually if the chain has a problem? Or they have to take the "car apart"? I think I'm going to take the car for them to have a look, but I don't want to pay a lot just for the checking.

The ones I checked at ebay are all 50 mm.

What exactly do I need to fit a set of RX8 alloys

Nothing really. They will fit straight away. The accord oem offset is 55, the rx8 wheels are 50. So no problem there.

Faulty timing chain - advice needed!

Yep, of course no one want to risk a possible costly repair, but just checking if there were any cases of serious problems due to the chain. Thanks.

Faulty timing chain - advice needed!

Apart from the noise (supposedly caused by a bearing, right?), does anyone know about any case of an i-ctdi engine blowing up because of this problem (ie: chain snaping or geting out of place)?

    Accelerator sensor cable slack

If you get the chance, and didn't done it yet, try to clean the EGR and the air intake valve. Pay special attention to the EGR valve closing area. It can build up with dirt and it doesn't close properly.

Padraig, I cleaned the areas marked red. Remove the plug too and clean the contacts.

    Accelerator sensor cable slack

Ok, it's true. I keep messing around too much in my car. I tell this to myself from now and then, and probably I will get in trouble some day. lol. But this one you got to try. It takes 5 minutes and it really changes the feeling of the car. Eventually, as I've seen in a Honda spanish forum, it...
