    EX Aftermarket Stereo

Some progress on this although not done yet due to a few issues The climate control display adapter works, which was the bit I was most worried about as it was quite expensive to import the adaptor from the USA: The connector doesn't have a latching section on it so I used a cable tie to...

Does my car need a "special tool" just to change the fuel filter? (2008, 2.2L, Honda Accord Ex I-Dtec)

Genuine is always best, but you can get generic sets of these "filter cup" tools in different sizes, they need to invest in some as i'm surprised they haven't had this problem on other cars. I got a cheap set of them from aliexpress for £10 or so which does the job although would probably...

    Buying: What to look for?

My Mid-2010 car doesn't appear to have any of these issues as far as im aware so in that case seems like a good year to aim for, I could just be lucky but to be honest my car has had a bit of a hard life under previous owners. Mine is needing oil to ups at the moment but that is an stripped sump...

    Buying: What to look for?

Just been reading a 2013 brochure here to try to figure out what changed in the facelift Honda-Accord-2013-UK.pdf (autocatalogarchive.com) Other than very minor styling changes I think it's mostly to do with the active cornering lights, adaptive cruise control, collision avoidance and lane...

    Buying: What to look for?

Diesel or petrol? Diesels - suffer from usual diesel issues, mostly around DPF and EGR. No worse than other brands. Personally I'd avoid a diesel unless you are doing huge miles outside cities as they are all euro 5 and below so attract a ULEZ charge. The petrol K20 and K24 are very strong...

I had this problem when I got my car and there's a reset command, try this (from memory I think this is correct)

    EX Aftermarket Stereo

Yes, that's right, it seems to be the only way to install a standard double DIN head unit - there are some units on aliexpress that appear to fit on top of the upper screen but I don't want to get involved with that, personally. Maybe something like this would work for you? 2012 acura tsx...

    EX Aftermarket Stereo

The harness available from ebay or mobilemaxcaraudio.com should achieve this, I have ordered it and I hope I will be able to get all the parts together in the next few weeks and will post an update when I can I intend to document the pinout of the cable as it is really expensive to get it sent...

    Squeaky brakes

It is probably just the pads are low, they have an audible wear indicator, a piece of metal which grinds on the rotor and makes a noise when the pads need changing - example These cars are also notorious for having sticky calipers, check they are not binding - this will make noise and cause...

Power Fold Mirror - passenger side not dipping in reverse

Apparently it's only on certain trim levels so maybe the mirror came from a car that didn't have it

    Leather Seats - Ripped

Might be cheaper to get a replacement seat from a breakers? There are lots of diesels in yards, on ebay etc Just had a look in the brochure I have in PDF for 2010 accord and heated seats were fitted on EX and Type S trim levels so if you can find a car in that spec being broken you should be...

    EX Aftermarket Stereo

An update to this, I have now ordered all of the parts I think I need as I managed to shop around a lot and get a few of them off AliExpress where the prices are a lot lower. The reverse camera loom for example, the wiring for the Accord camera looks the same as a Honda CR-V and you can get...

    K24 Oil Reccomendatios

The recommendation from Honda appears to be 0w20 but mine was last serviced by the previous owner at a Honda main dealer with 5w30 so I didnt want to change and upset it I used the Petronas 5w30 on the latest service (myself) as it was cheap at halfords, 5L is enough to fill the engine and a...

There's some good info that I found in the other recent thread abut this topic here: My new JDM Gen 8 Accord CW2 2.4 Type S and specifically how to upgrade the head unit. | TypeAccord - Honda Resource In short it's possible but it's an incredibly expensive endeavour, Since then I also found...

Buying 2.2 i-DTEC ES GT Auto box?

Congrats! Other than usual diesel problems (DPF) I'd say they're reliable cars. Certainly in my personal experience so far as I have had 0 breakages in nearly a year of driving mine just standard maintenance. That being said, mine is a petrol which are legendary for strength. Do you have the...

    Altenator

If you check the Honda ESM (aka workshop manual) it should give you an idea of the steps involved - theres a link elsewhere in the forum. It looks reasonably accessible from a 30 second look at photos. Part number for the alternator is 31100-RL0-G01 if that helps your search, original OEM brand...

    Driver side no heat [Solved]

Have you got the ability to read codes from the car using HDS? Or maybe failing that a generic code reader. For older cars you can pick up a cheap HDS cable on eBay/AliExpress/etc, It might help you to check for any fault codes relating to the system.
