    Head Gasket Selection

Keep the engine cover off and pour some water into the groove where the injectors sit before a long drive, it will show which injector seal is blowing mine has been 4 and 3. Since you have cleaned out much of the deposits upstream, the freed off turbo vanes will be working at a higher...

    Power tailgate problem

With the tailgate upholtery removed, you could check the connecti ng block that goes to the 'boot' button on the right hand side. I did have issues once when trying to shut the door on something that did not fit in the boot. Do you have any indication on the dashboard (red light/tail gate in...

    Head Gasket Selection

If it clears after a few seconds I would suspect crap in the exhaust boxes is being shifted by the engine breathing better. There will be a large amount of black stuff sitting in the back box of a high mileage diesel.

    Abs pump

Look back to one of my early threads (2016/7), I was able to reset using a shorting pin on the OBD2 port. Once I had replaced the pump, I was able to bleed the system by slightly undoing each of the unions on the top. There was no need to go all the way to the brakes, though if you have the...

Strange sound when reaching biting point in 1st gear only

If it is anything like mine (before the clutch slip got terminal) here is a grinding noise which best guess is a worn drive shaft as it enters the gearbox. I may be able to take pictures next week during the dismantle.

    Was this a good buy?

Service the stuff under the bonnet first, corrosion (unless worse than cosmetic) should be second on the list.

Wheel speed sensor or abs magnetic ring?

I found the original sensors with the car had fallen apart through age, there is athread about drilling out the debris and cleaning the interior on the site. A replacement sensor later on turned out to be out of spec and the ECU would not read the pulses correctly. No issue with the magnetic...

    Clutch help 2.2 i-CTDi

Thank you for the advice. I will check the tool in the box again, have a good look through the video this weekend (it looks to be rain for a few hours), and see if buying something different will give me a second chance at getting it right. Measure twice......

    Clutch help 2.2 i-CTDi

Ah, alignment tool. The kit comes with a plastic threaded version, (and the paperwork mentions a pressure dial) Should I be looking at getting more bits before stripping down ?

    Clutch help 2.2 i-CTDi

Jetwashed inside and out and everything looks accessible but has shown up the continued demise of two of the engine mount rubbers. One cheap battery ratchet wrench on order.

    Clutch help 2.2 i-CTDi

Quick question Once the gearbox oil is drained, and the appropriate suspension bolts removed, do the driveshafts really pop out like in the video or have I missed something ?

    Clutch help 2.2 i-CTDi

You are an absolute star. I think from watching everything so far (the dismantle and cleaning of the bell housing internals) I might just be able to carry it out here. Just looking at the raft of tools the only thing I am missing is the second set of axle stands and the leccy torque tool...
