Thought I`d have another go at this and after a lot of huffing and puffing managed to get it fitted, after a fashion. I did make a right pigs ear of it though.
Like I said previously it doesn`t simply replace the license plate light like it possibly does on the saloon. The only way I could see...
There is Ed here:-

But as this is a Honda supplied bit of kit it will cost mega bucks. I can see, I think, where they are fitting it and to be honest it shouldn`t be too hard cutting out a suitable sized hole in the...
Camera finally arrived and thought I`d have a go today while there was a dry half hour between showers. Managed to get the inside cover off the tailgate without breaking any clips, it wasn`t too hard. But thats about all I could manage. It looks like a no goer, with the camera I bought anyway...
Yep, that works. I`ve just found out, watching your video, that the camera has sound as well, I didn`t know that. I`ve only ever been watching the recorded video on my laptop which is usually muted, doh.
Some good info thanks Ed. I finally managed to get the date thing working, the instructions are a poor translation from I suspect Chinese. I think I`ve had a missed recording but I put it down to me taking out the memory card before it had finished writing to the sd card.
I`m happy with the way...
I just took the picture from the tsxclub thread in post 1 to Maplin. I think in USA the op called it a 100kk molex. They only had a 10 pin connector in Maplin but it was easy to cut down to seven. Then just collected the other bits from Maplin while I was there and dug out a piece of lighting...
Paul, yes as soon as I put it into reverse the screen changes to the camera input otherwise its just the normal satnav screen and yes that is the back of the dvd drive. The tsxclub thread in post 1 has better pictures.
CJ, don`t fancy making any more of those cables. In total it probably took...
Absolutely Gav. Everything is installed now and working fine. I`ve even managed to sort out the time and date stamp on the video. I was going to post a video of me going round the block to prove it but the short 2 minute video was 111mb and was taking forever to upload to Photobucket so I...
Funny you should ask Dave. I`ve just come in from fitting my cable and plugging in Panasonic digital camera to test it and everything works great. Just waiting for the reverse camera to arrive and install that.
Heres some pictures of how it went though theres not much to see. I`ve skipped over...
With Gavs Instructions I decided to go to Maplins and get the bit I needed. Its now fitted and working. I decided to run the lead along the roof lining, down the drivers side pillar behind the airbag cover and plugged into an extension lead that I already had fitted behind the dash. I use this...
Think I`ll just use it as its meant to be CJ. Don`t know how to stream it live though the satnav. As I`ve already demonstrated my electronics skills are not that good.
I`ve been in touch with the Ebay seller of the camera and he`s gong to send me out a new power supply from China, so when it...
I was thinking this would do the job, saves any soldering and messing about:-

Ah right thanks Dave. I thought you meant you knew where I could buy a replacement which I`m happy to do if there`s one out there somewhere. Here`s a photo of the damaged original. It all goes back together ok, it`s just that the black circular thing is totally detached and mangled and should be...
